any info on the program? I've already got a BS in CIS, but I'm curious what the school means with a certificate in computer security.
I'm pretty much at a point of diminishing returns in learning more about Oracle Applications. I'm branching out now into becoming an even better Linux / Unix admin. After that, or perhaps at the same time, I want to improve my computer security skills. They all seem frighteningly interrelated to me.
I talked with my advisor yesterday..and here's what I found out. They have a BS in CIS that specializes in Security, where they have you take 4 high level classes that would help in security. This is pretty weak as 3 of the 4 classes deal with OS, Unix I, Unix II. Then they have a minor in Information Security, which encompasses another 4 classes, these are a bit more advanced such as dealing sniffers. But from what I can tell they don't have a program for existing BSer to grab the certificate.
What degree are you earning?
