Weekend Update
Friday was BY FAR the worst day of school this entire year. To start with, Mrs. Latimer wasn't there so I had 22 of the crazies all by myself. Somehow this happened to Mrs. Wilson (the experienced 5k teacher) and she managed to get a substitute. Please tell me how that is fair. Whatever, I survived. Another crazy thought: Rebecca and her assistant were a lot of help while Mrs. Wilson did nothing. She isn't doing anything for us newbies. Whatever, at least Rebecca has a lot of good ideas . . . we don't need Mrs. Wilson. I just hope Mrs. Latimer will be there by Monday!! Anyway, by the end of the day I was ready to pull my hair out, I yelled much more than I wanted to yell, and I had managed to get a tons of hugs anyway. Go figure. The funniest part of the day was probably when I told them I was calling Mr. Salliewhite and Dante started crying! He did come in there and scare them but even that didn't last long. THEY ARE CRAZIES!
So after school Rebecca, Susie, Jennifer and I all went to El Tejanu again for margaritas and dinner. 3 hours later we have all let out some stress, told our weekly school stories (cause we're all dorky teachers), and gossiped about our personal lives. It's all good fun even though it will never compare to Fun Fridays with my Clemson girls. I know that's one thing I'm going to have to do: start enjoying my new traditions and quit making comparisons to Clemson. It's over, the memories are wonderful, but it's time to make some new ones. And I'm trying!
Friday after dinner I talked to Rico and he was supposed to come over but . . . yeah . . . I made sure that didn't happen. He finished his game in Walhalla around 10:00 and I made sure to be asleep before he got home. Yes, I'm a terrible person. Whatever. Susie and I ended up sitting around doing nothing, then hanging out with Michael and Gault while having a few drinks. Early bedtime and that was the end of "Fun Friday" as we now know it.
Saturday was pretty uneventful except for two things. Susie got Verizon!! So now I can send her text messages anytime I want and it's FREE! I'm so ridiculously excited (probably more so than SHE is)! So that was good. After that we lounged, layed in the floor, the usual. :) Then it was time for my family to come! Mom, Benny, Nana, Renee, and Rusty all came to the apartment bearing groceries and to look around. It was Renee and Rusty's first time here so I hope it was clean enough! Anyway, we all went to Ruby Tuesdays for dinner but couldn't get Gault as a waiter because he didn't have big tables. :( Dinner was nice and then we all came back here and listened to, get this, CHRISTMAS music. Mom bought me some new CDs and I had to screen them for "school appropriate" and Jesus songs. Yes, you know how public schools are! They left :( and it was just Susie and me, all alone.
Then Michael came over. Michael came like a wiseman . . . "bearing gifts." I won't get into specifics but I will be sleeping easy for a few nights and I'm VERY excited about that. I know not to sleep like that around Aaron, he doesn't want me to watch the hair crawl off the back of his head! :) Michael is the greatest. He also brought a gift for all three of us to share. You know I must have been crazy to stand outside in that hot hot night but alas, we all do crazy things in the name of high times! It made me miss Ian most certainly! :(
He left soon after and J-Boo here went straight to bed. Susie was in her room and I had no better thoughts in mind so I was just out. Yes, it early! So what?!?! A problem with going to bed early: waking up early. I was awake by 7:00 this morning and not a bit happy about it. But now here I am, awake and thinking of none other than my centers, math, letters, and homework for the week. So I might as well get started huh? I can be productive now and have something to tell Rebecca when she calls. Then I can be lazy for the Law and Order marathon tonight! So excited about that! :)
