sheer exhaustion

I can honestly say without a doubt that I am completely and totally exhausted. Like, I am settled down and I don't want to move because I'm so tired.

We had our first official meeting at Pleasant View this morning. We all had to be there at 8:00 for bagels, fruit, and breakfast casserole. It wasn't bad at all. We then proceeded to be introduced by Mr. Adams and then had the rest of the teachers introduce themselves to us. We got cool umbrellas (yes, I am dorky enough to be excited) and a gift certificate to some nice restaurant in Fountain Inn. I think Susie, Jennifer and I may go there tomorrow during our lunch break. Basically our meeting consisted of being read to by Mr. Adams, watching a horrible Corridor of Shame video, and talking about bridges and Greenville. Go figure. I mean, I wasn't bored at all but it all seems kind of pointless. The teachers seem nice and we got to talk to a few of them at length (one in fact, I thought would NEVER shut up). We finished up the scheduled meeting at 11:00ish and we had lunch from 11:30-1:00.

Around 12:00 Susie, Jennifer, and I all rode back here to Simpsonville to get my postcards and to grab lunch to go from Moe's. Yummy!! We rushed back in time to have our 1:00 meeting with the literacy coach. She also gave us a lot of good ideas but it was just ridiculous to sit there because she just read what was on the papers she gave us. Hello! We're teachers, we CAN read!! Oh well. Then before she would let us read we had to get rid of two baskets of her books. Rebecca and I went through them for awhile but finally I just had to go because my mom had gotten to school RIGHT at 1:00. I felt bad for making her sit there so long while we were doing pretty much nothing. Lucky me, when I got back she had already cut a lot of my calendar pieces and stuff like that. :) My mommy is the greatest ever! She stayed until 5:30 or so and we got a lot done. After scraping every single table (damn tape), sorting out the supply closet, and taping game boxes (and finding missing pieces), I was beat. I strolled out of Pleasant View around 7:30 to come home and chill.

I walked in and told Susie all I wanted to do was shower, eat, and watch a movie. I showered, she cooked, and now we're watching TV. And yes, I deserve to be idle! This teacher bullshit is EXHAUSTING!
