Finished my last day of new teacher training today! Well, for awhile anyway. Today was just as bad as the first day but shorter so that's a plus. No more of that lady for me until September thank God! She is boring and doesn't give us a chance so it's like a 4 hour lecture. KILL ME NOW. Sorry, had to vent a little, even though it IS over.
After training Susie and I headed back to Pleasant View as usual. Susie arranged her desks and I made my nametags. I also wrote a note to the custodian to have a few things removed from my classroom (including the evil desk that Nana tried to make me keep for my assistant). Now I have open spaces and that should make me happy but it freaks me out. I'll figure something out. I have definitely decided to paint one of my bookcases and I'm freaking out about what to do with my other books. Trying to stay calm....I'll figure that out too. As we were walking down the hall Susie and I peeked into some other rooms and I have a few more ideas about how to make the room more homey. Definitely gotta add more fabric that I initially planned. Also some contact paper to one of the boards. . . . and for the board . . . oh geez . . . SOOOOO much stuff. Alright. I'm okay.
I also had a tour of Rebecca's mobile. She hasn't done anything yet so that doesn't make me feel too pressured. AND she likes the way I did my reading corner so that makes me happy. Jennifer (the other first grade teacher besides Susie) hasn't done anything yet either. She's also coming tomorrow to do some painting in her classroom. I'm glad I'm not the only one. AND she's spending a lot of money on her room. I mean, I guess it IS a good investment if I keep it for a long time.
So we're breaking for now. We're going to get to work tomorrow after all so we came home early. It's raining (which thrills me because it's cool outside). Susie is going to nap, I'm gonna watch a movie, and then we're going to get back on task. This is just a break . . . we'll get it all together, I'm sure of it.
