Icky Sticky
I was definitely right about today being a waste of time. From 8:30-12:00 I could barely sit still. (At least they had muffins and cheez-its for breakfast). One good thing: we ended up at a table with a girl that was going to be at Pleasant View and 2 other girls that were moving into Fairview Crossing next weekend. Then another girl that lives in a neighboring complex came by and introduced herself as well. So we have some connections. We also learned that there is another 5K and another 1st grade teacher doing their first year at Pleasant View. So that's good too.
As for actually learning anything? No. The second part of the day (after our hour and fifteen minute lunch break) wasn't AS bad and got us thinking but still didn't TEACH us anything. I guess we're supposed to know it all already!
After "training" Susie and I went by the school to see our classrooms. Well, her classroom and my mobile. It was too hot to stick around so we went, we saw, we left. The other new 5K teacher was going to go through another mobile full of stuff we could have but I was too hot, miserable, wet, and sticky so I just left. She'll get first pick I guess! Maybe I'll go by tomorrow . . . we'll see. For now I'm going to try to cool down. This weather SUCKS!
