Stick a fork in me . . . I'm DONE!!

Today is cause to celebrate!  When I arrived at school I checked my e-mail to discover an e-mail from Mr. Adams.  Said e-mail instructed me that I was to meet with him today to complete my ADEPT file.  Meaning:  We had to have our last meeting that basically determines if I get a recurring contract with Laurens 55.  I honestly wasn't nervous about passing my PDs (10 areas that we are graded on based on a bunch of BS criteria), but I was kinda nervous to see if there were any problem areas.  Although I passed all 10 with "competent" the first semester, there were a couple of things my evaluators wanted to see more of second semester.  ANYWAY . . . I went into my meeting with Mr. Adams, we sat down, and he opened his notebook to my page.  I sneaked a peek . . . . COMPETENT IN ALL AREAS!!  :)  And that was it.  Quite a lot of work and a lot of nerves to walk in and have Mr. Adams tell me that everyone is happy with everything I have done and I'm done.  All I had to do was sign the paper and he was going to send all the paperwork to the district office today.  At that point I got a little giddy and he had to let me giggle a little bit while repeating over and over again "I got a job!!  I got a job!!"  After I got that outta my system (a few times, actually) he reminded me that I still had to have my "end of the year meeting" and I had to get an actual contract to sign, but that yes, he would be offering me a contract and "Would I be joining them in the move next year?"  My response:  "Oh heck yeah!"  So there ya have if folks:  I am officially in the clear now!  It seems so odd to look back now on college and even last year and know that through it all, I have prevailed.  Mr. Adams was talking about how happy he was that he was able to work it out for me to start ADEPT this year instead of redoing Induction.  He thinks HE'S happy?  I can't even imagine if I hadn't even started ADEPT!!  I'm so glad it's over andn done with.  I told Mr. Adams I was done; he told me it was time for me to coast.  He doesn't know how right he is!!
