Get this: the lady that is going to be my new assistant called Mrs. Latimer to check on her. (She just had surgery). While on the phone with her apparently she asked about me, what Mrs. Latimer did in the classroom, etc. Mrs. Latimer told her all I ever had her do was make copies and punch outs, etc. My NEW assistant was disappointed because she's been teaching for so long, she wants to be very involved! I had to tell her (without sounding like a gossip) that it was Mrs. Latimer's CHOICE to disappear for hours at a time, NOT what I asked her to do. I also had to tell her that Mrs. Latimer would NOT help with the children . . . when I asked her to do stuff she would give the children materials and walk off . . . NOT sit and work WITH them.
This new assistant is super religious and has taught in private Christian schools for most of her career. I'm not saying that as a bad thing, I'm saying it because she's very much against "gossip." So is it gossip for me to tell her EXACTLY all of Mrs. Latimer's faults? Hmm... ;)
I just can't believe that woman's nerve sometimes!
