I don't know if you've noticed this or not, but I'm kind of a pro-active person. I mean, I HATE to sit back and wait for something to happen to me. I want to have some sort of control. Or, if I can't control it, I like to know my options. I like having all the questions answers, leaving nothing unknown. So needless to say right now I am going out of my mind!
Susie had her second interview on Wednesday right? Well, before she even ARRIVED in Greenwood I had already been to the office to talk to the manager about what I could do when it was time for lease renewal. Yes, I have a tendency to worry before I need to, but in this case I was right. Needless to say I was not impressed with the price that I was quoted. It went up $70? Why stay?
So then I spent Wednesday night checking out places online. And then I made a few visits on Thursday, just getting my feet wet. And then again today.
I left the apartment this morning around 10:45 to take Pip and Tang to a pug meet on Congaree Road. Another lady's pug, Lulu, turned one so they had a party with a cake, party favors, and leis. Yes, it was Lulu's Luau. So cute! After a couple of hours (literally) with around 20-25 pugs it was time to head out!
Pip, Tang, and I headed to Michael's to convince him that he was the only person in the world that could take me apartment hunting. So off we went. In some cases he can be a bit high-strung, but overall he has pretty good judgement. I mean, of course we liked the high-dollar places but I know that just isn't financially feasible. So I set me sights at a reasonable level.
After checking out several apartments, floor plans, price ranges, etc., I think I have it narrowed down to about three places: Halton, Plantations at Haywood, and Huntington Downs. I still need someone to go back to Halton with me for a better assessment and Michael and I are going to have to see Kelly's place at Plantations because the idiots there don't keep models open and there are no vacancies. I have a question about Huntington too . . . . they have a cheaper floorplan that I'm mostly satisfied with BUT for the same price as all of the other models I've seen I could have about 300 more square feet. I should be seeing that model soon. Basically I'm looking at a 30 minute commute from any of my options. Is that acceptable? I hope so, because I'm really set on moving now. Anyone from Greenville: do you know anything about those complexes? Please, give me feedback. I found a site that allowed people to rate them but I wasn't satisfied. Two of the places I'm interested in had ratings of 33% and 44% and Michael has lived in/is living in both of them and loved them both, otherwise he wouldn't have taken me there. I really think that people that are happy with these places don't bother commenting. Agree or no?
Any help is appreciated guys. Ask your friends if you don't know! :)
