I find it kinda funny; I find it kinda sad

I'm listening to Mad World by Michael Andrews. It reminds me of Spring Break 2004 at Folly Beach. Those were the days....

Although I have been relatively free the past couple of days, a lot has happened.

Wednesday I went out to lunch with Todd (yummy Chinese buffet). Susie left me for the afternoon. She had to drive BACK to Greenwood for a second interview with Springfield Elementary. Sadly enough, I spent the afternoon alone. Susie finally came home and we had a discussion about living arrangements. A quick breakdown: if she got the job she would leave September 30th when our lease is up. If she didn't get the job she would resign our lease and stay through next September. As we finish this brief conversation she got the phone call from Greenwood. And she got the job. I'm happy for her but it's also pretty sad. In a little over two months she is moving an hour away. This will be the first time we have been that far apart for any significant amount of time. I mean, no worries: I'm not going to commit suicide or anything ;) it's just going to be different. Very different. We both have our quirks, but she's company at least. But no more. Not in two months time.

On an exciting note: I've been saying for ages that I wanted another pug and that once I lived alone I would get one. As soon as Susie told me the news I got online searching for a new apartment and a new puppy! I have a couple of prospects for apartments and thanks to my Dogster group I got a few listings of available puppies.

Wednesday night Kevin and a friend came to crash on the futon. Lucky me~I got to get up early the next day to drive them to the airport.

Thursday was my day to be productive! I took Kevin to the airport and then came home to get ready for lunch with Rebeclynne. Before lunch I was really debating the merits of moving into Greenville (AWAY from work) as opposed to staying here. A one bedroom is $570 (which is $70 more than last summer). And with Susie gone . . . I don't know . . . I just need to be where I can easily get to friends. Simpsonville is a great place, and I really like it. But it's too far for random drop-ins and such. I'm thinking of moving to/around Haywood Road. Lunch with Rebeclynne made me see this. Not that she tried to convince me, it just became clearer. So after lunch I dropped by a couple of places to check prices/specials/availability. I went to Michael's place first. The prospect of living in his complex is good . . . not because I think he'll introduce me to a soul mate (lord no) but because I'll have company from time to time. One of the scariest things about Susie leaving is the idea that I will become a hermit! ANYWAY~I went to Halton Place and Plantations at Haywood. More to check soon! After those two places I met Michael to watch him eat lunch. (Fun times). And while there I finally got through to a breeder. And she had a black male pug available NOW. Yeah, you know how I am. I can't say no. So I quickly drove home to pick up Pip and Susie and drove to Piedmont to pick up my new little boy. He's so little! And so cute! I named him Wu Tanqueray, but call him Tang for short. Mom has already taken to calling him Tango. That's fine with me . . . much better than her calling Pip "Pippy."

So here I am with two prospects and a puppy on Thursday. And then Ian comes over and we all went out to Wasabi for dinner. Unbeatable. Dinner was amazing. Then we came home and settled in for wine and movies. Low-key and perfect. After being subjected to (first) The Boondock Saints and (second) Fight Club, I drank myself into what I like to call a wine induced coma. Last I remember I was sneezing, and then I woke up in my bed with two pugs! :) Getting up was a bitch but Susie and I had to go to the girly doctor. Not happy. As soon as Susie got called back I curled up on their couch and passed out. She had to wake me when she finished! Needless to say, we went back to sleep when we got home!

(I only mention the movies above BECAUSE Aaron and I rarely WATCHED movies, but those two were movies we made it through. Boondock was the first movie he ever made me watch. Fight Club was second place to Roldy. Get over it already Jenn!)

I spent today waiting on Charter. Assholes. My "appointment" was between 1-5. He showed up at 7:15 or so. Just a TAD BIT LATE!!! JD came by to meet Tang and ended up spending the afternoon. After the Charter guys left we all headed out to Beef O'Bradys for dinner. All in all it's been a good couple of days.

I expect tears when she leaves....
