FOOD!!

The past two days have been a hit . . . as far as food consumption goes anyway!

Last night Susie and I finally decided to quit talking about the Melting Pot and actually GO. Yes, we spent about $70 apiece for no apparent reason. We ordered the "Big Night Out." The waitress asked if it was a special occasion. Unable to think of a clever answer we settled with a simple "no." How lame is that? After she walked off I decided we definitely should have told her it was our first date. Just to see her reaction. Would have been great. I spied a waiter walking by. I bitched about not having a waiter . . . we ALWAYS get waitresses. Ah well . . . such is life. And then, long after I forgot about said waiter, he stops at our table and points directly in my face. WTF?? Turns out it was Josh!! That means nothing to you I know. I worked with Josh's older brother, Jon, at the downtown Subway. Jon and I were pretty close and I went downtown with Josh once. Josh, smart boy, introduced me to Killians. I did not forget to remind him of that momentous occasion in my life. :) He stopped by quite a few times, always asking what I was going to do after dinner. I always replied nothing, waiting somewhat expectantly for an invite or SOMETHING. But it never came. After he decided to SIT with us for awhile (after the table was cleared) and he asked me again for the fourth, fifth, TENTH time, what I was doing I decided to throw caution to the wind and give him my number. I told him to call me sometime and wrote it on the back of our receipt. I'm classy huh? Seriously though . . . I'm not man-hunting on my dinner outings, I'm just taking advantage of a potentially fun situation. I mean, Josh is a cool guy. He's younger than me (aren't they all) and above all else, I want to establish some friends in this town! We've been here nearly a year now . . . I NEED CONNECTIONS! He promised to call . . . we'll see.

Mark calls Jon "sex on a stick." I can't wait to rub it in that I know where he works now! :-p

After our pig-out at Melting Pot, Susie and I decided to play the "fat pig wallering" game. We plopped ourselves down in the living room and turned on yet another movie from OnDemand. It's almost like a sick obsession, trying to diminish my Netflix list. I almost don't care about the movie~I just want to knock it off my list. Hmmm . . . some boys are like that huh? ;)

After a late night and a couple of pain pills (last night proved to be too much for my back), I had a late morning. Or, uh, afternoon. I didn't get outta bed until 12:00. And after a couple of hours of TV I was back in the bed to read some more. I got a new comforter (thanks Nana!!) and it makes me wanna hibernate. Seriously, our shitty weather today made everything a bust . . . I didn't even haul myself to the tanning bed! That's some hardcore weather. I think our poor flowers either drowned or were pelted to death. Possibly both.

Luckily I had a reason to be forced outta the house tonight. Otherwise I very well may have stayed tucked away in my bed all night! JD and I had dinner plans at Wasabi. Yes . . . it's only the best sushi/apple martini place IN THE WORLD. We met up downtown at 7:30, had a drink at the bar, ate some amazing sushi, and had another drink to cap off dinner. After seeing multiple people walk by with Starbucks JD decided "they were giving that shit away for free cause there's no way THAT many people were buying it," so we had to go look for it. Going to look for Starbucks took us down towards Falls Park. While we were on our journey JD got a phone call. Sarah. How appropriate. I assumed she saw my away message but that was not the case. However, she heard me laughing in the background and asked to speak to me. She was not thrilled with me not coming to visit her because I had "dinner plans." Maybe a case of "it's her friend?" I dunno. Probably not. Sarah isn't generally that type. Anyway, she and JD decided they would have their conversation later and we continued our trek to Fall's Park. It was my first trip and it was absolutley beautiful. We walked across the bridge (and decided I would die if I fell that far) and then down around the rocks and the paths. JD had the bright idea for us to take the steps back up. Stellar. All in all though, it was amazing. The weather was just warm enough with a good breeze. It was a perfect night for a walk. After Fall's Park we stopped by Port City Java for a frappa-cappucino. It was "frapp-cappa-tastic." I don't know . . . ask JD!

All in all, the night was a hit. JD was interesting, funny, and entertaining and I wasn't the least bit bored. It was a lowkey night; just what I'm in the mood for these days. Hopefully JD will be a new friend in the Greenville world. However, I'll always be "Sarah's friend." Great.

And when we got home for the night? We both started MySpacing. We're SO cool.
