I know I've been avoiding a real post for over a week now. No excuse. Just lazy.
Only important issues really:
I went to Charlotte last weekend (June 9th-11th) and had a fantastic time. Susie met us after a week at the beach, Jaime flew in, and JD and I had a wild ride from Simpsonville. It was honestly one of the best times I've had in quite some time. Both the ride AND the actual trip. JD was, as expected, simply hilarious. After arriving he said he said that we may have already reached the peak of our trip. Not true! Friday night we picked up Jaime at the airport with a sign saying indicating we were picking her up from rehab. Yeah, we're 'tards. Friday night we hung around the house playing lazy bums (surprise surprise). We spent Saturday shopping at the mall and then we went back to Sarah's to watch a movie. Finally we decided to dress up and go out. Poor JD. Don't you know he LOVED having to deal with the four of us? We went to downtown Charlotte and had an excellent dinner at a brewery (reminds me of SOMEONE). Unfortunately a storm came around and forced us inside. Because of this we decided to head out to a real bar. Connellys. We had a couple of shots (cause Susie and I kick ass) and a couple of drinks before the noise level got to us. However, not before pictures were taken. Fun times. The next place allowed us to actually sit and talk. More drinks. More fun. It was great. Eventually all of us lazy bums decided to head home. After a good nights sleep we had to take Jaime back to the airport and then head back to Simpsonville. It was sad leaving Sarah after such a fun weekend. I plan to see her again soon.
Since then I've spent some time in Union working. Good times at Union Square Cinemas. I came home from there last Wednesday so I could attend yet another doctors appointment on Thursday. Thursday night was a night to hobnob with the rich snobs of Spartanburg. I'm kidding really, they weren't snobby at all. Because Bethi works at the Arts Partnership of Spartanburg she had to attend their "Academy Awards." Groups of people had made "movies" and they were viewed and judged at the "ceremony." This "awards show" included an excellent dinner and an open bar. Could we ask for anything better?? I had a couple of apple martinis, a cosmo, some Peels, some white wine . . . yeah. Lots of good alcohol flowing. Yet everyone should be impressed by me. With an open bar AND no car on site, I cut myself off. Yup, sure did. Now, not before I was seeing DOUBLE and actually fell asleep while watching the second video, but I still cut myself off and was able to drive by the end of the show. Bethi could not say the same. I ended up driving us home. Yay Jenn! I was going to make the trek back to Simpsonville; it wasn't even 12:00. However, Bethi pleaded for me to stay with her at her boss's house so I obliged. I'm a good friend, I know. However, not as good a friend as Bethi is for taking me! :)
Let me say now that I am guilty of half-drunken text messages. I remember it, and I take responsibility of it, and I'm glad I did it. So far, so good.
Saturday called for a trip to Clemson. First trip since November. And we all know the two main reasons for NOT returning. However, Casey turning 21 was enough to jump start me into going. After a trip to the mall to secure his flask (that I've been promising for 3 years!!!) I made the trek to Clemson, met up with the guys, had a sushi dinner with Ian, and promptly freaked out. I did NOT make it for a night in my beloved town of Clemson. I walked outside to talk to Mom, freaked out, and had to leave immediately. Making it home took a phone call to Sarah. I'm so glad she was there for me!!! After sobbing my way home and laughing at everyone else's expense with Sarah, I shared a bottle of horrible red wine with Susie to calm myself. We also watched a ridiculously funny movie from the 80's which helped calm me for the night. At 12:00 I ran outside to call Casey to wish him a happy 21st, I called Rebeclynne to wish her a happy twenty-f'in-seven, and I called Benny to wish him a happy father's day. I have my nice moments, I know.
I don't think I'll be making any Clemson trips any time soon . . . .
Yesterday, Father's Day, called for a trip to Union. No fun to be had. Dinner at Marjories. Nothing new. Came back home. Watched another movie with Susie. Whatever.
Currently free until Friday. Friday night I'm having dinner with JD at Wasabi. Definitely looking forward to that . . .
