So did I ever mention that I'm home? No, but I'm sure the onslaught of quiz updates alerted you to that fact. Ah well, such is life.
So going back quite awhile (as in April 6th) I've had a bit going on here and there. For instance, on that Thursday night (6th) I went downtown. Well, to begin my day I went to lunch with Bethi in Spartanburg. I'm glad I'm spending time with her again. She's the greatest. :) On the long drive home I decided I was sick of being a stay-at-home loser. Yes, I'm getting antsy being here all day every day. I decided then and there that I would accept all invitations that came my way, even if it meant that I was going to have to meet new people. Oddly enough I got a call a few minutes later from Mark F. He actually invited me downtown, and because I had already made a decision regarding invitations, I was forced to accept. :) Later that night we went to Two Twenty One and met up with his roommate and some of his friends. The roommate was definitely a FLAMER but he was entertaining to say the least. Out of the blue Mitch spotted some "of their kind" and struck up a conversation and brought the guys back to the bar withim. Did I mention all of these boys are gay? Yeah, definitely. Chris and Sean were nice guys and we spent most of the night chatting with them. We exchanged numbers, though I'm not sure why. Chris showed Mark his "peepee" and he was taken aback. Yes, very interesting night. And then we went home. I drove, of course, When DON'T I drive? (Speaking of, I'm tired of it too.) Anyway, it was 1:30 AM and I was speeding right along. Finally got to my road (and off the interstate where I was flying). Speed limit of 35 huh? No matter! I drove 50ish. I pulled into my parking lot and as I was turning into my spot I saw the blue lights. Damn blue lights. I hate those fuckers. Luckily I was wearing my brace and after a little explaining this guy actually let me go with a warning. That never happens to me! Whew! Good night!
Friday I woke up superearly and tinkered around the apartment for awhile. I had to pack for the beach and Rebeclynne had to drop Gracie off. (Yes, she gave her away to Nick). While walking Pip I ran into Patrick (Softball Ass from upstairs). It was good to run into him again . . . we talked for awhile. I had to quickly speed off though because I realized I had been chatting for far too long and I was late meeting PV at the zoo! Yup, I went to the zoo to meet up with the class. It's kinda fun to do that, knowing I can float around and I'm not REALLY held to the same standards right now. AND I can pick my favorite students and hang out with whoever I want. TeeHee. I'm not a bad person! Ask anyone, all teachers have their favorites. It's unavoidable. After the zoo I made the trek home to Union cause we went to the beach the next day.
I spent from Saturday until the NEXT Sunday at the beach. It was nice at first. It was really nice having EVERYTHING paid for too! But then after awhile I just started feeling like a loser (again). I was with Mom and Renee and I just wanted to be able to hang out with friends. I made my new "accept all invitations" revelation RIGHT before I left so I felt like I was missing out on my new pact with myself. Alas, I'm not the decision maker. We stayed way too long if you ask me. They drove me crazy trying to tell me how to feed/treat/walk Pip. I'll never have a child, they'll drive me absolutely BATTY!
Sunday was good cause 1) we came home and 2) I got to watch a movie with Thad. It's the first time I've seen him since the accident. I missed my Thaddeus! We watched Scary Movie 4 which is SOOOO much better than SM3. Don't take my word for it; go see it. :) Of course, it helps that we still don't pay for movies at Union Square Cinemas! No wonder the place sucks up money. Thad will be outta school (PC) in about 2 more weeks. That's crazy good. Clemson didn't get out that early! Anyway, he'll be back at home and working at the theater again. Thus far I have told me to put me back on but no luck. Maybe when Thad gets home and they're working full days again . . . . ? I hope so.
It was SO good to get home Sunday night! Susie, however, did not feel the same way. She was missing NYC.
Monday almost seemed back to normal. I mean, after I finally got up and got going anyway. Rebeclynne came over to get Gracie's crate and we just spent awhile talking and catching up. Then she decided she needed to have her nails done but that it would take a long time and she didn't wanna sit there alone. Cue Jenn to be the good friend and go sit there with her. It wasn't bad at all. THEN on to dinner. Moe's of course. :)
I didn't mention that while Rebeclynne was here she informed me that contracts were out. I had a mini-freak-out because I hadn't received one. When I was in the hospital/at home Mr. Adams called me ALL. THE. TIME. Now when something this important is up he doesn't? It could only be bad news in my mind! She encouraged me to check my e-mail and to call him myself (cause we wanted me to go on the field trip to Thornwell Farms on Tuesday). After holding my breath to check my e-mail I was pleasantly surprised. He had messaged me after I left for Spring Break. Silly man! He was telling me that he had my contract and didn't know where to send it. Then another one told me he sent it to Union. I was overjoyed! At least no more worrying. I don't even know where I would have started if I hadn't gotten that contract!! I ended up calling him anyway because I really wanted to go on the field trip. While at the zoo I told Reagan to ask him and get in touch with me but I never heard back from here. Oh well. Rebeclynne informed me that she only had two chaperones and had room for me. I politely called and told Mr. Adams all that and he seemed excited about me going. He's such a wonderful wonderful man!
So Tuesday I dragged myself outta bed and was off to school. I signed my contract for Mr. Adams (so as of April 18 I am employed for next year)! Then we went on our field trip. Let me tell you, it was great to be there but the field trip was crap. Very unorganized. I mean, it was high school students trying to tell kindergarteners about farm animals. But they didn't use appropriate language and they didn't say enough to hold their attention. Ah well, I guess not everyone is cut out to be a teacher!
Ian, Steven, and Brad came to visit Tuesday afternoon. That was a nice reunion. We went to the mall to wander around and waste time. I don't know Brad too well but he seems like a really cool guy. Too bad they didn't hang out with him last year. I assured him that before long he'd be missing me like crazy just like Ian and Steven. Oh yeah! :) Before they left they informed me that I was going to come to Clemson this weekend. Marc is having a Pirate Party but I can't see myself having any fun if they don't go. Supposedly they have other plans. When I told them this they seemed to change their mind and at last check they said they were going to go. We'll see. I told them to call me Saturday and fill me in for sure. Speaking of the party, I messaged Marc about details and got nothing. The next day John sent me a message and told me that I had to come or else he was making me walk the plank. Maybe HE'LL give me some details about it! And I'm NOT dressing up!!
Yesterday was another exciting day in the life of Jennaboo. Not really. I had to be fitted for my new (smaller) brace. I don't know why. Who knows how much we'll have to pay and I bet I won't wear it! Shhh . . . don't tell Mom that. Anyway, besides that, it was quite a downer to have some guy using a tape measure and filling in the blanks with my measurements. How embarrassing. At least when they did it the first time I was in ICU and I don't remember any of that crazy stuff. Drugs can be a wonderful thing. (Speaking of, Michael mentioned something about setting off a bed alarm by scratching my back while I was in ICU. I, of course, have no clue what he's talking about. Must have been stronger drugs than I realized!)
Afterwards I drove to school to have lunch with my class. However, in my long absence I forgot what lunchtime was and I was ten minutes late. At PV lunch is supershort so I pretty much missed most of it and then had to finish lunch at the teacher's table split between talking to Rebeclynne and Rico. I'm sure HE'S glad to have me back. I spent awhile hanging out in his mobile so I wouldn't "rile up" my class with my presence. Ick. Apparently I got back to my own classroom just in time to have Rebeclynne have a freak out. Lucky us. :) Her mom made a MySpace account so she could look up Rebeclynne's profile. What BS is that? She's embarrassed of course. She doesn't want her mom reading all that crap about her. I mean, it isn't anything she doesn't know already, it's just that it's posted "for the world to see." She continuously threw it up in her face that "she's a kindergarten teacher" and went so far as to tell her that she might not get hired cause some principal might look her up and decide she isn't fit. Her response? "If a principal has time to look me up on MySpace then I don't want to work for him." Good girl. I also went yesterday so I could go to the faculty meeting. Yes, while there I hated them. Now, they sound like fun! We discussed Spring Fling (tonight) and I volunteered to help. I'm such a good little samaritan. :)
Last night I was going about my own business when Michael (finally) called me back and wanted me to go eat at Charlie's with him. I decided to go, against my better judgement. I still needed to walk and tan. But I went. So Susie and I set off. Less than a mile before the Haywood Road exit I noticed . . . the blue lights. Yes, again. This time I was not so lucky. It was dinnertime and I was wearing no brace. No pity. The cop didn't even give me a chance to say anything. Just walked up, asked for my stuff, and then told me my speed as he was walking off. Damn. He came back shortly with a ticket that he didn't drop down at all. 74 in a 55. Damn. I swear I was keeping up with traffic. I don't know why he singled me out! We decided that he doesn't like Clemson (cause I'm plasted with stickers and a tag) and that he must have gone to USC. Dumbass. :(
Question for anyone and everyone: If the cop doesn't mention points and they are not written on the ticket along with the fine does that mean points are still there? Help me out! (And I hope the answer is no but I'm doubting that.)
Today I have to go to the school to help with Spring Fling. I have also agreed to help with Jump Rope for Heart (sometime soon) and Field Day on May 23rd. The last day of school is May 25 (half day). How weird is that? It seems unreal. I mean, only like, 26 days left and they're finished. My first year is over. (Although it was really over in December I suppose). We're quickly approaching the year mark for graduation. I think I'll spend that day crying. No, I'm probably not lying. :(
I gotta go get ready for the day. Neighbor Patrick will hopefully be up for tinkering with my computer today. He called me last night at 1:30 (yes, AM) and was at work. Said he'd call me at 2:00. At 2:37 I went to bed. At 3:30 he called. Oops. Maybe today.
