its a dog eat dog world
PipNo and I had a late night and an early morning. Even still I got in six hours of sleep (which is good for me)! We were up and primping by 9:15 this morning. We had to leave the house around 10:00 so we could get to Best Friend's Resort and Spa around 11:00 for the monthly pug meet-up. Yup, we actually went. The woman that sets up the meets was late and she said it wasn't their best turn out because she was slack at updating the information. Even still it was more little pugs than I've seen ever! It was so cute. I was a bit disappointed in Pip though; instead of being super friendly he seemed scared and skittish! He would run around a bit but he did a good bit of barking and growling. I was a pug favorite because I brought treats in case Pip needed a little something. Of course I couldn't NOT share with the babies! I SO want a little black female now! The next meeting is the first Saturday of next month. Yep . . . I'll go. Pip (and I!!) need more socialization!
During the playdate Michael gave me a call and asked me to come over to meet him and Kelly for lunch. Who am I to say no? So we headed over and let Pip see Carson for a few minutes. Kelly was busy so it ended up just being the two of us. Michael wanted to go to O-Cha so we made a quick stop there. After ringing up my edamame they discovered they didn't have it. Too bad. Because I had already paid I just made a cheaper substition and told them to keep the extra change. The manager must have felt bad because he gave us both free ice cream to make up for the 40 cents. Really, it wasn't that big of a deal! This ice cream was wrapped in something so you could pick it up and eat it with your hands. Definitely a must-try guys!
Susie and I met up at the office to go see our REAL new apartment. The fireplace doesn't throw the place off as much as I expected. The living room will be almost the same, we're just sticking the DVDs in the closet. Not a big deal at all. We had talked about maybe putting my curio in the living room but I'm not so sure we'll even have room for that. We planned out the dining area too. I'm ridiculously worried about my room and closet. I'm trying not to think about it. I'm still glad to be getting back and to be on the first floor. I'm considering bringing my hammock back. I think I found a decent place for it. I don't even know if I'd ever use it but we paid for it and I'd like to have it in case I ever want it. Susie's Mom is supposed to be getting her patio furniture for a late Christmas present too. It'll be nice to be able to relax outside. We're also investing in a flagpole/Clemson flag now that everyone can see it on the front! :)
I wasted my Saturday night for sure! I fell asleep at the old apartment while Benny packed up the computer and stereo. Driving home was a bitch! I stopped at Brusters and got a scoop of birthday cake ice cream but even that did little to keep me awake. I walked in my door around 6:30ish(??) and stayed asleep until nearly 10:00. There was no waking Jenn up from that coma! Pip is exhausted too. I wish you all could see him passed out at the foot of the bed on top of Bedtime Bear. :) I think I have relinquished Bedtime to Pip and I'm taking over the new stuffed pug Mom gave me.
I think I may spend all day tomorrow recuperating from Thursday and today!
