Christmas on SAD??
Today is fondly known as Singles Awareness Day to all of us poor pitiful singles out there. However, my SAD turned into one of my better days I've had! For one, I got my lazy ass up and went to visit my school. This was important for a few reasons.
First of all, Rebeclynne had me promise to play dumb about the Latimer situation until someone else of authority told me. Well, I just kinda forced Mr. Adams' hand by visiting and yes, he told me himself so YAY! Now I'm just pissed because the ***** took some of my books home with her. I'm e-mailing Mr. Adams to see if he can take any kind of action. I don't want to have anything else to do with her. He knows this too, when he told me I smiled. Yes, I did a great job of pretending not to know, and even Reagan fell for it. :)
Anyways, I also went because Mr. Adams needed to have some kind of "annual conference" with me. He had to fill out a report for the DO and review it with me. He e-mailed me about it and said it could be over the phone but I thought it would be better to do it in person. I got a glowing review with all "satisfactory" ratings. I think my favorite part is that he called me cheerful. People around here don't believe that and I have trouble believing it after the past couple of months. He said that seeing me walk down the hall with Rebeclynne and Rico (besides the brace) he would never know anything had happened. That's encouraging. Today was my first day really being ME. I mean, I showered with MY shower stuff, dried my hair with my brushes, wore MY makeup, wore REAL clothes and shoes . . . it was just like the old me. I even wore jewelry. Everyone was surprised to see how good I looked. That's a plus. :)
Now, I also went to school cause I knew Mr. Adams had everyone buy me gifts and I wanted to pick them up from Rebeclynne. I felt bad that she was going to have to come to Union so I made it easier. Man, am I glad I went! I totally racked up!! I got lots of candles, candy, and bath stuff. I was kinda sad going up there knowing I wouldn't get gifts from the children but I got a couple of surprises! I got a couple of gifts meant for Mrs. Latimer (teehee) and then I got something from Dante (don't know exactly who it was for but it's cute and I love him) and Darby's family had sent something that was put in with gifts from the teachers. Yeah, it was like Christmas on Valentine's Day.
Seeing Rico was good too. I actually miss him. I asked him to be my Valentine and he accepted. Lucky boy even got to walk me down the steps to the office. :) Mom joked that he'd probably be her son-in-law. Uh, NO. Sorry bout that one Lisa!!
The whole day I was texting various friends with VDay messages. Ya know, just trying to do a little reconnecting. NEWSFLASH FOR JAIME AND SUSIE: I even answered a text from that girl we all know . . . I'm sure you all got the same message I got from her. Anyway, I got a few messages from Brandon that made me smile. I got a message from Todd saying he wanted to visit soon. I haven't seen him in nearly a month now so that'll be good. And THEN I got a message asking how the flowers were. What flowers? When I got home there were 6 roses and a balloon waiting on the front porch! Thank GOD the dogs didn't ruin them! I got a Happy Valentines Day balloon, 2 pink, 2 yellow, and 2 white roses. From? Who do you think? Of course, they were from Brandon. He just wanted me to know he was thinking of me. I told him he helped make my SAD more special and he said he just wants to be really good friends. I wonder if we're to that point yet? I hope we can be one day. I know we've tried it before but eventually one day we'll have to get it right. He's special, even if he is a bit crazy! We just aren't meant to be "together." We're meant for friendship and that's it. Either way, the flowers were a hit with me!!
Renee called me today and we just talked about her getting roses from Rusty. Nana said that was stupid (waste of money) and I said that I LOVED getting flowers and I would rather "get flowers that die than get candy that makes me fat." After saying all this I told my Nana what I'd done for the past eight years on VDay. Yes, I can remember that. :-p Well, after I got home MORE flowers were delivered. Nana and I both got six roses apiece from Renee and Rusty. Sweet. :) Yes, I racked up this year. This was my Christmas on Valentines Day.
High School
Freshman: Flowers; dating Derik. I made him a cookie cake and chocolate covered heart shaped pretzels with love quotes stapled to them. I don't think he ate either of them and I think I got mad. Figures.
Sophomore: Flowers; dating Derik (Not as impressive as our first)
Junior: Scott Coffer asked me out on Valentine's Day (probably the least eventful of all)
Senior: Daffodils; "dating" Brandon
College
Freshman: Flowers; "dating" Brandon
Sophomore: "Dating" Brandon. In reality we had JUST started talking again the week before VDay and he STILL went all out. Brandon cooked dinner, we watched a movie, and he gave me a PAST/PRESENT/FUTURE RING THAT WAS TO DIE FOR (but then he made me give it back the next summer when we had a huge fight)
Junior: Mike cooked dinner for me the week before; I went home for the weekend and went to Abby's Grill with Derik (cause we were both single)
Senior: Well, I won't go into specifics with my sex life, we all know. I worked at Subway (with Ian) while all of the FAB FIVE went to see Hitch together. Ian gave me books for my classroom for VDay cause he was so super sweet. :)
As much as I hate the holiday, it always seems to stick in my mind, especially the people that make it important. :) It's a holiday I hate to love.
So enough about Valentine's Day. It's after 12:00 so it's my Mommy's birthday. If ya read this and ya know her you should call and wish her a happy birthday. Come on, she deserves it after having to deal with ME all the time. ;) Of course, we all know me, I was the first to tell her right at 12:00. Trying to make it as special as possible for her. I love Mommy. :)
