And it all leads up to this....

Issues with Latimer came to a head today. Well, I guess she will fully realize it tomorrow, but it hit me today. Because she is a fat lazy tard she didn't go on the field trip today. She stayed behind at school to "work." I told Mr. Adams I did NOT want her in my room and he agreed. I knew it wouldn't work, and of course, I was right. We got ( Read more... )

1. I'm sorry you're having surgery tomorrow. I will think of you and wish good things. I hope everything goes as planned and you have a quick recovery.

2. Is your assistant insane?

3. Don't take her shit. You're the lead for a reason....if she wanted that position she should have applied for it. It's a good thing that Mr. Adams (who I'm assuming is the principal?) is basically on your side.

I'm glad you understand what I'm saying. We have team meetings (all 5k teachers) once a week. During this time the assistant is supposed to carry out my plans. One particular week I had them go to centers. When I came back she had half the kids sitting doing NOTHING and the other half helping her move my room around COMPLETELY!! I mean, not just a desk to the side or a student to another table, but the entire room was transformed!! I ended up making changes myself while this was going on and I approved but the principle behind the subject: she did this without asking me first. This has happened countless times now. I think yesterday was finally the last straw. So you don't think I was too harsh right? I know I'm the lead in the classroom but having a strained relationship will be detrimental for the children. Being the young one sure is hard!! And yes, Mr. Adams IS on my side and he's extremely supportive and easy to talk to BUT he is much more talk than action. A lot is going on in that classroom and if he doesn't make ( ... )

No, you're not being too harsh. She has to let go and realize that she was hired to carry out your plans, not to create new ones. I know she probably doesn't see it as doing harm but she needs a wake-up call. I know you mentioned that she is much older than you, which honesly is probably part of the problem. She thinks that she is wiser than you since she has more experience. What I say to that is that change is good and times surely do change.

I feel like there is going to be a big blow out one day where you're going to snap and tell her off. Maybe that's what needs to happen?
