Game: Complete!

I DID IT!!!  Wow, what a phenomenal game.  This has been one of the most satisfying Fire Emblem games I have ever played, and easily my pick for best game on the Wii.  Having played from start to end, I'm almost 100% convinced that the reviewers at Gamespot, 1up, and wherever else just didn't bother to play through the whole game.  Terrible story ( Read more... )

It was an interesting play. Astrid was absolutely amazing for me- she had as much attack power in the end as Ike did, except with much higher skill and enough Resistance/Defense to stand up to most enemies. It was highly unfortunate that she got in the way of Deghinsea's special skill, which activated at the wrong time.

Ike is a really great unit, but I didn't overuse him, I don't think- he only reached Level 20 in the second-last fight. Ilyana ended up very strong, because I slapped a Blossom ability on her early on in the game.

Micaiah, however, was amazing for me. At the end of the game, when I realized what Yune's blessing did, I restarted the chapter and equipped her Purge tome. She was a goddess from that point on, because she had limitless blasting-power, and was especially amazing in the third-last battle (as you might be able to imagine). She ended up in Level 20 by the last battle, with very close to maxed out stats (50 HP, 40 Mag, 40 Luc, 40 Res). I loved her.

My brother always picks on me for using Astrid and Meg, but I really loved both units. They took some work to get rolling, but they were off and running before too long. I tend not to use units like Shinon if I don't have to, because they don't have as much of a chance to grow- I love watching characters go through incredible transformations over time, and as we all know, it's often the weaker people at the start that end up the strongest by the last chapter!!

Anyway, not even a single person died from my group during the final battle. My anti-godly-laguz party... it worked pretty well!
