It is written that an angel with a compassionate heart will bring the righteous man to faith. Then, Heaven will fall into the path of ruin and Paradise into the hands of Man.
Zachariah is well aware of this and so sends the fiercest under his battalion in search of Anael, the last angel to take the fall into humanity. After all, what angel has a heart other than the ones that fell. Meanwhile, he sends her old command into Hell to keep them off the scent of Anael's death.
This is his first mistake.

The last ring of hell is a cavern of fire and shadows. There is very little left to fight in this vast empty space. Instead of resistance, they face the cries of endless agony and sorrow where each soul tries to reach out, hungry and thirsty for the briefest touch of the Holy to ease their suffering.
But Uriel and his brethren are not here to save the undeserving.
Light suddenly flares from over his right and Uriel finds himself turning to nothing but the hum of what's left of Castiel's flight.
"Castiel!"
"I see him," the Lochagos calls back, voice carrying like thunder.
Uriel carves a path of blood and gore towards the direction Castiel has fled, holy light fading the further he goes.
Castiel can be very fast.
Uriel shakes his head but doesn't question. He abandons the attempt to give chase and beats down on the filth that try to reach his commanding officer, smiting those that dare to touch Castiel. There are still traces of burnt Grace in some from when Castiel's holy blade grazed into their spirits in his haste as he passed, and Uriel bears down on each to make sure nothing is left. He will clear the way for when Castiel returns.
He passes the knowledge to the rest of the legion and as one, they follow in Castiel's wake. The combined presence of Heaven is blinding and terrifying, and yet some souls remain shameless in their approach as they continue to plea for a blessing. These unfortunate ones meet the unwavering wrath of angels.
