Title: Hold me close, lover
Rating: PG
Notes: Written in ten for the "And a sunset couldn't save you now..." challenge.  Characters are borrowed from myths (history? :p) and the wonderful fairy boys collaboration that the even more wonderful eudaimon and I are working on. The speaking voice would be Nimue, The Lady of the Lake.  Merlin is holding her.

Oh darling, no worries, no tears.  Your face wasn’t built for crying, lover, the sky clouds over when you frown.  So show me that grin of yours, sweetness, show me those grey eyes smiling and those pearly whites.  Make me laugh lover, ‘cause I’ll not see the rising sun.  Oh, love, my dearest darling boy, don’t lie to me.  Sunset can’t save me now.  I’ll be gone with daylight, I’ll be gone with dusk.

So hold me close, lover, tell me a tale.  Spin me a story, light my way.  Let me rest my head here and fly away on the rumble of your chest.  Let me hear your heart beat, let me hear your laugh, and send me off smiling, lover, send me off with dry cheeks.

Hush now, darling, and spin me a tale. Smooth out that hitch and hold me closer, it’s gotten awfully cold.  Oh, my grinning magic boy, dusk is falling, so hold me close and let me fly.
