My mom's family is pretty much nuts when you consider shit like this. They are all super-sweet and religious, and no one has ever admitted that any of this crap went down. I can guess at least one other cousin he might have molested, but there are probably more.

Two other really fucked up things are he used to beat the crap out of my mom when she was little and she completely forgot that ever happened. Her nutty sister had to remind her all about the beatings years later, and even then she didn't recall them. This is the same nutty sister who is now around 68, and still refers to the child molester grandpa as "Daddy." There has got to be a story there.

Well, let me refresh it. How's this for hilarious? Grandpa's first name was Lester, and yes, we referred to him as Lester the Molester.

What? Me worry? sarahshevett February 3 2006, 09:45:24 UTC
I wouldn't worry. You did something unusual with your card ( take it out, put it in scanner) which is why you forgot.
I' be more worried if you forgot to do something you do everyday like you didn't even put your pass around your neck. Even still, I wouldn't worry

A lot of my forgetfulness is also due to severe anemia and a B-12 deficiency, which I finally mangaed to get someone to treat here. I used to get IV iron, but when I came to work in the city I couldn't make the appointments in Long Island any more. Hopefully now the memory will improve when the blood count does.

Oh god, poor Laura. That's terrible.

My grandma (who I lived with around the corner from you) was not a nice woman, and she definitely got worse with Alzheimer's. She decided she didn't like Riley, and she'd actually get up out of her chair and try to attack him. Riley is nuts, so he'd just run around laughing because he knew she couldn't catch him, but it freaked me out. We used to joke that we could finally be mean back to her because she didn't know who we were anymore so she couldn't tell.

I think Alzheimer's can turn nice people into monsters, but I'm not sure about regular 'ol senility. I sure as fuck hope it can't be induced by anything we do, aside from eating aluminum foil straight off the roll or something like that. I'd also like to think that there's some kind of "eternal justice" for someone like your grandfather. Not necessarily hell. There's gotta be something worse than that, don't you think?

My sister was permanently broken. She never was self-sufficient, never even had a real boyfriend. The closest she ever got to one lived 3000 miles away, which I'm sure was part of the attraction. She was always scared of men her whole life. It's no wonder why when you hear this shit.
