Calling All Cheesemongers
Certainly this falls under the category of Cheese 101 for gordonzola or Miss dairryiere. Please help as I am extremely cheese knowledge-impaired. Last night in honor of payday, the_new_zer0 cooked up a sumptuous feast of steak, green beans and giant Toll House cookies for us. The steaks were garnished with bacon and this mystery cheese, which was marked simply "Spanish Red Wine Goat Cheese" by our supermarket. This tiny wedge cost $10. I ate about $8 worth of it last night, before dinner was even served. It had a very delicate flavor with a hint of red wine and an almost nutty undertone. The texture was moderately firm, but creamy. What is the official name of this fine cheese? I must have more more more!
