Our Top Story
I am home from work today. Since 9:30 or so, the din of sirens and helicopters has been incessant. I went out for a quick errand to Pathmark and the police have completely shut down the street. Detectives in suits are roaming the entire neighborhood. There is police tape around the house one street over. I turned on News 12 Lawnguylind out of curiosity. There's a shootout going on one block over, the end result of a failed bank robbery. Four of the five suspects are hiding out in the area.
So far Channel 11 News and CBS news have come to the door looking for some sort of story we don't have. Monkey turns them away, telling them we have heard nothing other than helicopters out of the ordinary.
How can a neighborhood this expensive be this crappy? And who the hell would rob a bank at 9 AM on a Monday? Isn't the point of being a criminal you don't have to get up early on a Monday? You might as well just have a real job.
