I was going through all of my old CD's that I'm selling in my yard sale and I came across my old Velvet Revolver CD. I still remember buying this CD when it came out....I was still in Iraq and I had just got off my midnight to noon shift. I went to the PX to walk around...maybe cause it made me feel a bit like I was at home....walking in a store-like setting really made you feel like you were in a Wal-Mart or Target as opposed to a war-zone. It was oddly comforting...and I looked at the CD's to see if anything new was there and I saw Velvet Revolver's debut CD was there. I bought it immediately because their lead singer was the old lead singer for my favorite band Stone Temple Pilots + members from another favorite band of mine (Guns n Roses).
I gave the CD another listen today and this song came up. I remember the comfort it gave me during the situation with my ex-wife. Music has that ability to make you think about things that you either never really thought about or want to accomplish. Thankfully, this beautiful song made me realize that life wasn't over...that it continues to move on despite whatever pain you encounter. So I'm moving on.....and I'm moving on.
