You lose some - you win some...
Wow, haven't really written anything here for quite a while. Well, life was busy and definitely going up and down.
Had a job-interview on Wednesday. Great job and all, but they picked the other one. Said that we were basically both as interesting but the other one had more experience in that field. No clue if that was true or not, they had to say something after all. Also not sure whether it'd be good thing or not if it was actually true, it made me quite worried about my future job-perspectives.
On the other hand, I got the confirmation that my pure terror when it comes to oral presentations is apparently not visible to those who watch/listen to me. Seems like I'm coming across as rather confident, with clear speech and presenting the stuff in a comprehensible/coherent way.
Yeah, I have a tendency not believing people what they're saying but rather read between the lines, interpret (and "occasionally" over-interpret >.>) and watch their reactions. And the prof in question looked so completely astounded and unbelieving when I said that I really have problems with oral presentations, that I'm inclined towards believing her words. ;)
That's good to know, especially since we have to do those damn presentations in every freaking seminar.
Well, that was a nice thing. That and her saying - after she had a little hissy-fit at most of our group concerning the fact that 'studying' means taking responsibility and being proactive - that I'm on the right way, that I should dare to even take a step further since it will be something really good coming out of this...
Yeah, that kind of made up for not getting the job and worrying about how it will be in another 3 years or so. I don't really like this professor, to be honest. She is not my kind of person but I do respect her on a professional level. And she will be around, so if I make a good impression on her, I might be able to use her as a future reference. And further more I'm still planning to trying for a doctor's degree after my masters.
But enough of this now. I've got some dragon eggs to catch. ;)
