So we've probably all heard now that the House, M.D. crew is filming background establishing footage at
an abandoned mental institution/hospital in New Jersey.
Frank H. Conlon/The Star-LedgerThe TV show "House" is scheduled to film at Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital in Parsippany-Troy Hills Wednesday morning.
It really doesn't look like any of the main actors/actresses are involved, they are off on vacation now-remember Laurie high-tailing it out of the US to old Albion the moment the filming stopped last week? This on-location footage sounds more than just a quickie though, in other words, this building may very well be going to play an important role in season 6. This would explain why the producers are being so proactive. Several possibilities come to mind:
- House goes totally bunkers and is institutionalized, even if only for liability or assuaging-the-board reasons; maybe he'll be long-distance diagnosing with his team running relay? That reminds me of that movie, Crazy People, in which Dudley Moore is an advertising guy who finds his fellow "crazies" to be the best ad team possible, with an uncanny knack to come up with great advertising ideas.
- Wilson's brother becomes an important presence in the show: Wilson maybe has him moved to an institution more nearby than NYC and then House continues his support by trying to help-maybe he's not really crazy, just a chemical imbalance ;-)
- House and Cuddy have come out and one of them has to go because House can't report to his girlfriend, so he takes a job at this institution: could just be a hospital where he'd be the diagnostician again... or something else, a demotion he has to accept to get a job at all?
