Spoilers
Let me start by stating that this episode was fantastic! First, however, watch episode writer Sara Hess' video on 7x09: I love her! What a gorgeous, enthusiastic, funny woman! Nice to have a real face to go with her tweets.
We are introduced to Lisa Cuddy's mother Arlene, played by the fabulous Candice Bergen (Wind and the Lion, Murphy Brown, ...). She is a bit of a hypochondriac and ambushes House in the clinic. She is formidable, even scares House!?!? She is very hard on Cuddy, even going as far as calling her a slut. Then and only then-he was restraining himself on orders of Cuddy-does House speak up... only to be preempted by the sedative he slipped to Arlene. The scene of domestic bliss in all its heart-touching weirdness and somehow-perfectness with House & Cuddy doing the dishes with the sleeping mama Cuddy and Wilson-don't ask ;-) -behind them is just wonderful. Mama Cuddy is a giant pain in the butt and very opinionated but means well in her own way-remind you of anyone?-and ends up appreciating that House does love Cuddy and even tries to protect her: "I still think you are pain in the ass with a God complex, and I'll kill you if you hurt her, but I'm glad she has you."
Update: How did I forget the scene in Cuddy's office where she reads him the relationship riot act? Dialogue with thanks to

HOUSE: I have been going out of my way to be nice to old Jewish ladies for months now on the off chance one of them could be your mom. You couldn't have mentioned she's a shiksa?
CUDDY: She converted when she married my dad.
HOUSE: See now is too late.
CUDDY: I'm not blaming you for this. She's the one who ambushed you to find out what you were like because "I never tell her anything."
HOUSE: Well, I'd have to agree with her on that one. Anyway, I obviously can't come to dinner now.
CUDDY: Obviously?
HOUSE: Well, she's crazy and she hates me.
CUDDY: House, I need you to come to that dinner for two hours. Keep your mouth shut and behave like an adult. Yes, you will be in hell but I will feel better having you there. That is what a relationship is. We average our misery.
HOUSE:
