Praise for Wodehouse

Aug 06, 2019 11:37

I'm posting this from an 2012 members-only post in indeedsir from a long-gone LJ'er, mostly so I can link it to "Plum's Library" on Discord. I'm honestly not sure what the morality of this is. If you have a problem with it, let me know.

My dad, being the upstanding gentleman that he is, knows of both my love of old books and P.G Wodehouse and was delighted to find an early copy of 'Laughing Gas' at a flea market and gave it to me for Christmas.  It's a well loved copy (it has been mended and doesn't have the dust jacket, and therefore has the dreaded 'spine fade') but it is all in one piece, published by Herbert Jenkins. It also has these rather delightful reviews in the back, some of which I hadn't read or seen before.
