I've really been enjoying the back half of Season whatever the fuck it is. At first I thought losing Rick would be a body blow. And it kind of it, and it kind of isn't. I really miss Carl!! But I actually like Daryl as the main character. At last, we can understand his dialogue!
BUT Alpha is a great villain. It's so rewarding to have a female villain who's really scary. Rather than yet another loud self-aggrandizing white guy. Seriously, I wanted to punch Negan in the face. Plus, I hate when battles are dragged out for the sake of it, such as Rick never actually shooting Negan when he was speechifying and everyone had a clear shot! Alpha is creepy and Samantha Morton has turned out to be terrifying af.
That ending! HOLY JESUS SUCKING A POPSICLE! I was spoiled, but it was still awful watching the reveals of each zombified head. (Side note: they probably didn't go whole zombie with the heads so the deaths had a smidgen of dignity.) CAROL...! AAAUGH! Daryl running at her yelling at her not to look, and then holding her. I was more bummed than I thought I'd be about Enid and Henry. I just can't with Lydia because it's her fault the Whisperers slaughtered all of those people.
There are only two (Carol and Daryl) of the original cast left. Just about everyone else has been killed off, including one of my favorite later characters, Abraham. This week is the finale. My bet is on King Ezekiel getting killed. Or, Carol taking out Alpha by throwing both of them off the cliff into the zombie horde. CAROL IS MY QUEEN, DON'T YOU DARE MESS WITH MY QUEEN!
good wholesome entertainment,
