SHAMELESS: Help Support Planned Parenthood And My Book!
All right, I'm going straight to hell for this. I'm removing the repost bar so people besides whoever's reading this doesn't get spammed.
ANYWAY, my novel is called "The Abortionist's Daughter." It's a historical coming of age story set in 1916. At the outset, the Daniels family is living in disgrace in a tiny town in the Adirondacks. Horace Daniels accidentally killed a woman while aborting her fourteenth child and has served a sentence at Dannemora prison. He's lost his license and now only practices medicine on the immigrant laborers who work at the paper mill. His daughter Melanie blames her father for ruining their lives. Then she elopes to New York City with a handsome stranger...

The subject matter seems very timely today with all the debate about not only abortion, but even contraception now. As intolerant as those times may seem, things haven't really changed that much in a lot of ways. The story segues from Melanie's life in a small town into describing the Broadway theater world of the early 20th century. Being a theater buff myself it was a lot of fun to read. Really a delightful book.
