Okie dokie then smokies!
Thursday -
consisted of work and packing, cant remember much else!!
Friday -
I got up early and finished off packing for the weekend - had done most of it the night before, but of course toiletries are always the last thing you have to pack! So, I went over to my grandparents in the morning, as we were all going to put some flowers for mum, as Mother's Day was Sunday. I bought her some freesias and carnations - these were some of her favourite flowers. Then, after I had been to the 'garden of rest' I went to the station to catch my train to Ipswich. There was a lot of snow, and I was worried about cancellations or delays - but luckily I was able to get an earlier train and all was well! I got onto the next available train, which was around 12.45, and there was just a 15 minute delay! It took 20 minutes for me to get to London Euston, from Watford Junction. I then asked a chappy on the gate, which route was easiest to get to Liverpool Street. He said that if I walked to Euston Square, the train would follow through to there, which I did. I got on the next train, and then arrived at London Liverpool Street. After arriving there, I was surrounded by shops, but resisting all temptations, I went to view the main board to see what time the next train to Ipswich was. Where I came across another helpful chappy on the gate, who informed me that I could catch one at 2pm. So, I then went and joined the queue for platform 9 as instructed, only to find another delay! people were kicking off in the queue, but this didnt bother me at all - funny how something as life-changing as my mum passing, makes you have a whole different perspective on what is important in life. I find that I just do not sweat the little things anymore. So, eventually I get on my train at 2.30! and then I go and find a cosy seat for the next hour ahead!! I texted Chris (Richy's mum) to let her know I wasnt far away, and then just chilled out, reading over my notes for my new job.
When I arrived at Ipswich, Michael (Richy's dad) was outside the station-front waiting to pick me up - and we had a nice chat in the car -then went back to Richy's house and indulged in choccy biccies! and a cup of tea. Chris was due home around
5, and it was around 4 when I had arrived. Richy had a lovely fish-tank in the lounge, which you may remember, he hated to clean! lol - he used to always complain about the stench of the little buggers! but they are so peaceful, and really fascinating to watch. Then Chris got home, and we had a big hug and catch up, before settling down for the evening, with some good t.v! and a take-away chinese with a nice bottle of wine - yummies! We had ordered the lot! Prawn crackers, beef with green peppers in black bean sauce, chicken chow mein, special rice, and battered prawns - it was damn tasty and we were absolutely stuffed after that, pretty merry too, lol!! After the Chinese, we watched t.v till quite late, then I hit the sack and had a really good nights sleep, surprisingly enough! Guess it must have been because I was so knackered from the trip.
Saturday -
I got up about 9, then went downstairs and had brekkie with Richy’s parents. This consisted of brown toast, a bowl of Quakers’ Harvest Crunch with red berries, mmmm mmmmm! And of course, orange juice and tea!! After breakfast, Chris and I sat in the lounge chatting, whilst Michael went into town to do a few bits and pieces. It was nice just being able to relax in good company and talk about anything and everything, whilst letting our breakfasts digest, lol! Then we decided to get dressed and get ready for the day ahead. So, its around 12.30, and Michael gets back, and Chris and I decide to go into town - bearing in mind that she has recently had a fall, and is walking on a crutch! But try stopping that lady, hehe - so off we went! After battling through the traffic, we finally arrive in town and we park up ready to hit those shops! ‘What? Me? I hear you cry!’ ;) so we went to a few clothes shops, and I found a gorgeous suit for my new job! It is cream with brown pin-stripes, and it is just lush, dahlinks! So of course, a lady must have a matching top to go with this suit, and a set of damn fine accessories! which I found. A woman on a mission syndrome, dont cha know! It was lovely, just being able to go shopping and having a female eye to see what looks hot, and whats not! One of the things I really miss about not having mum around, we used to do everything together - but Chris really helped me find an outfit, she even chose the top - thank you Tigger, you know I love you more than words can ever say.- xxx - and that it is thanks to you! that Pooh looked the part for her appointment on Monday morning! So we leave the clothes shops alone, and go across to a florist. This was because I wanted to send my grandma some flowers from my brother and I for mothers day. I requested that they sent it on Monday, as I didn’t want my grandma to be upset on Sunday. We do this, after being in a few different florists, and I am constantly checking that Chris is ok, as she has her crutch! But she assures me that she is ok - and that the walk is doing it some good .She seemed to be getting on really well, and said she would let me know if she started to feel the pain! So after this, we stop off at a pub, that Rich used to take me to, when we used to go out, and along with his other mates. Chris didn’t know which pubs I had been to, and it was so odd, that she had picked that one!! We had a nice pot of tea in there with custard creams - oh my, are those biscuits yum in my tum!! After that, we both needed to pee like a race horse - your words Stubertus ;) and then after that, we went and had a good ole gander in the Toy shop, tehehe! I found my dad an MGA model car! which is what he used to drive in his day! lol - only reason mum fancied him, methinks! mwa ha ha !! I was really pleased with this little purchase, and then we went to Woolies! gotta love Woolworths - even if its just for the pic n' mix!!
Chris had to buy some luggage for her course, she was doing for a few days this week. So, in we went to find something suitable, and that is just what we found! nice little compact black case, with a few compartments and a handle for easy carrying!! it was pretty funny really, coz we asked this guy to get down the case, as it was on the top shelf, and we are both short asses, lol - and the same case we were after, just happened to be on the bottom shelf, but we didnt think it was the same when we had looked, oops! After this, we chose some pic n' mix for Michael, and then we went back to the house. I got in and just had to check on the fish! there is one that just stays fixed underneath the filter all day long, oh so cute! and I took a pic of him with my phone, teheheh! then Chris went in the kitchen and started making a pork casserole - yum - I love them! she put in apple slices too, which we had with toasted bread and salad, very nice indeed. After dinner, we had some tea and settled down for the evening. Chris was really pleased that she had been able to walk for so long, we were out a good 3 hours, and she hadnt managed that length of time yet! then we watched the soaps - gotta love em - which took up most of our evening, LOL! and then we just chilled and chatted, and then I went to sleep. Back to the dream bed, I had a look at some pictures of Rich that were taken during his Venice trip, a few I hadnt seen too - which was nice. He really loved it there, and was seriously thinking of moving there to live - I am just glad he had the opportunity to be happy in a place that he truly loved. After having a damn good cry! for both my angels - I then fell asleep.
Sunday -
I got up and had a nice bath, usually only shower at night - but for some reason I am now having them in the morning -weird girl I know! but hey, change is good. Then I went downstairs and had breakfast - all that toast, jam and cereal - bring it on!! and that O.J and tea, where would I be without it?! hehe! after we had all got dressed and ready, we went to buy some flowers for Rich. I was quite worried about how I was going to feel this day, as it was Mothering Sunday - and I was going to be visiting my angel boy. I bought some peach roses, purple freesias and a white flower (I always forget the name of) and a little greenery. Chris and Michael bought the same, but we went for different colours, so we could absolutely spoil Rich rotten!! We also picked up a disposable camera and a nice red bottle of wine - Claret my lovelies, what else?! we then went back to the house and put the flowers in water. We had some more tea, I tell you people, I cant get enough of that stuff!! and we also had a piece of choocy cake, mmmm mmmm - which Chris had bought for me for my bday :"> and she even went and bought Smarties to add to the cake, just like I had made!! we then took the flowers to the cemetry. Michael got some water and we went to see Mr Rich, my big bitch. On the way to visit the stone, I saw the tree that Andy and I had planted in his memory with a plaque - this was done in Rich's memory for all his friends. There was still a bit of snow on the ground, and the tree looked beautiful. I was so happy there, it was peaceful, and Rich would be able to continue his dreams forever - as the words read on his stone by Nirvana. It really is a wonderful place, and so nice to have the tree planted opposite where he rests. After the cemetry, I went to visit Richy's grandma and Chris's stepdad. His grandma gave me a big hug and made me tea and jaffa cakes, lol - think someone told her I liked them just a little bit?! then we sat down in the lounge and chatted. It is sad because Brian (Chris's stepdad) is in a wheelchair, and Richy's grandma is the sole carer for him. We looked through photos and they had their lunch, and then we made tracks. Just outside the front of their home, Rich has a garden dedicated to him. It is so lovely - with a bird table and trees, plants and flowers. His memory will live on in so many different places.
Then we went back to Rich's house and we chilled out again, before dinner. We had spaghetti bolognaise with salad, including cherry tomatoes and cucumber!! and of course me ole mate Claret ;) - goes very well with spag bog you know!! and then I watched t.v with Chris and Michael and we stayed up till about 11pm. Michael had work in the morning, so had to be up early, so I had to say bye to him this evening. - boy, I so hate goodbyes! so I gave him a big hug and a kiss and told him to take care.
Then, Chris and I stayed up for a bit longer, but then decided we had to go to sleep, thanks to the drink, lol - I could hear Rich saying 'you lightweight lis' hehe! but he was the worse giggler when it came to alcohol, that cheek meister - so I'll never compete with him. lol!!
