new jersey
i have to remember to post photos from new jersey. i had a glorious day on saturday with maggie. we went to new jersey to some really cute neighborhoods with tree lined streets and little shops and big old houses. some of the store fronts reminded me of the old west! we went to the pop shop to devour some vegetarian 50s diner lunch and ice cream sundaes! (best soy ice cream!) all the cherry blossoms were in bloom and my new camera took some really nice shots.
we went to a neat toy store with some awesome toys in it! and i'm not talking kaybee or toys r us.... a toy store with mad balls, commies vs. u.s. plastic army men, 3d kites, rubber duckies, car air fresheners, flinging pirate guns, etc.
i bought a wood type letter at an antique shop. it is a question mark- probably helvetica. it already has a hanging thing on the back so i can hang it on my wall. i need a few more though before i just hang a random question mark. i love type. i need to play with it more often and get into art again. nothing seems to keep me interested though.... i'm either at a really tough blockade or maybe art just isn't for me to create. maybe i should look into art history? who am i kidding? i can't even remember what happened in books i've read and tv shows i've seen and who knows what i did last week!!
i had a good day. i'm gathering photos for my hair cut this weekend. a half day to spend in buffalo! woo!
