Some news

Last semester I ROCKED the casbah so to speak... I got a 'B' average. Three classes, two at senior level, one being exceptionally challenging, and I did really well. I'm very proud of myself.

This semester so far I'm fighting with both the registrar and one prof who is teaching a course I NEED and doesn't want to sign me in. I wish I could say I wasn't talking to them and that that would solve the problem, but that's simply counterproductive.

This morning I got woken with the news that we have to move by May 1st. Our house was up for sale and it seems as though someone has finally bought this pile of shit. I shouldn't say that, I really love this house (especially the location), but it needs a LOT of renovations to get up to par. So anyway the new landlords have decreed that the house shall be vacant when they take possession on May 1st. Which leaves us in an awkward position of finding a new place to settle down in.

Considering the terrible local economy here in Windsor, we've opted to buy our own house. Banks and realtors are practically giving houses away because the market is so terrible... now's the time to make the big leap of ownership.

It helps that Branwen wants to remain living with us, and I think Joe does too, so that means we'll be getting a HUGE house and the cost will be shared between six people. That means we can all work on paying off our debts while having the security of living in our OWN HOUSE. Well, realistically it will go under mine and Mike's names, but everyone will be pitching in on it. The best part? We don't need a down payment.

Now comes the fun part: trying to find a suitable house. We've already figured that we'll need a place with a fully finished basement (and two bedrooms down there), along with a second story with 3 - 4 bedrooms. We'll also need a reasonably sized backyard which has potential of being fully fenced in, and a driveway. I personally would prefer a place that has an accessible attic for storage (and future finishing) and possibly some kind of garage/shed as a work area for Mike.

So yeah. That's where I am right now...
