Quick update
Two things that are worth noting:
First, I'm going to Cleveland tomorrow to visit Jinx! Huzzah! Now that it's almost here, I'm quite excited. Beth from class reminded me yesterday that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is there, so maybe we'll try to see that. Her family's having a Sader tomorrow night, and I've not been to one in my adult life... I'm a little nervous about embarrassing myself, but I'm curious as well. Mostly, it'll be nice to hang out with my equally easily-amused buddy. :)
Two. My Monday night class ended last night, and, to my surprise, I was sad to see it go. I learned a lot in there, I think, about the preconceived notions that teachers have about students before they even enter the classroom, and I learned about some of the things that I need to look out for in myself. I loved the professor a lot, as well... He was just a genuinely nice, interesting, engaging person. Before the class ended, he pulled me aside outside in the hall to "talk to me about my research paper." I thought he was going to be mean to it like he was to my first paper (he ripped my grammar apart in a way that has never been done to me before), but all he said was "Crystal, I really think that you need to pursue your doctorate. I don't care in what, and I don't care if you do it here, but with writing and thinking skills like yours, you should stay in school as long as you can." Man. That was just such a compliment, especially since he was so hard on my first paper. So now I'm thinkin about getting my PhD. Wouldn't that be somethin? Dr. Crystal. :) I dunno what I'd get it in, but I sure do like school... It's worth pondering.
