It's snowing. Again. I believe that last year I felt very much that it was the winter that wouldn't end. This winter has been much worse. I had hoped that our *last* snow storm would be the final one of the season. Well, if we're lucky, maybe it'll be this one.

I did spend a lot of time in the yard after my last post... nearly 9 hours over that day and the next. The Boy helped some too. But it was funny that he was always interested in starting a project that wasn't on my list to accomplish. I wanted to get all of the flower beds raked and trimmed. He decided it would be a good time to take down the remaining Xmas lights and clean the gutters. Which wouldn't have been bad if I hadn't had to stop what I was doing to hold the ladder. Silly boys. So there's still 2 more flower beds that need to be finished. The rest of the time was spent digging out a small tree and its entire root system that was growing into the chain link fence. Part of a series of fence repairs that need to be finished before this home gains a dog.

Yes, we have started discussing the "d" word. Ha! Of course it's not the best time, we have a number of vacations planned in the near future. But is there ever a perfect time? We still may decide to wait until the end of summer. But at least we're thinking. You may think we're crazy, but this is definitely a decision that we take very seriously.

Besides the outdoors, we're also started working on the indoors portion of the house!!! Last weekend we spent one morning stripping wallpaper in our "entertainment room". I refuse to let The Boy call it a man-cave because a) it's on the second floor and b) I enjoy everything media-related just as much as he does, so the sex distinction just doesn't fly with me. ANYWAY, now that I've gotten that off my chest... :) The wallpaper came off MUCH more easily than I was expecting (invest in the DIF and the wallpaper perforator, it's worth it! I have since heard that diluted fabric softener accomplishes the same thing, but cannot verify) and we discovered a lovely peach wall with a series of LARGE blue and pink moon shapes on it. Lovely. Luckily, we have already chosen a dark paint color for that wall. I am currently trying to convince The Boy that it would be totally fun to put stripes on the ceiling. Because I'm crazy sometimes.

The other big thing going on lately is the planning and preparation for my godchild's first birthday party! Which is next Saturday!!! Eep! His parents are also crazy. They have invited about 120 people. And about 35 kids. OMG. I am in charge of balloons and game prizes. And will be participating the assembly of the favor bags this week. Sadly, I will most likely miss the decoration of the 140 home-made cupcakes. Which, will be decorated as monkeys. Because that is the theme, of course! It's going to be a bundle of fun.
