The Day Before...
S-L-O-W day at work today...
Can't start anything new (yay 4-day weekend!), don't have anything to finish. Doing some routine lab maintenance, could be working on a poster but don't really wanna, do have one article to read for next week's lab meeting. And that's about it. The Bossman has already said that I can skeedadle early, but I will wait until at *least* 2 or 3. :)
Just had a nice chat with him during our weekly lab meeting. He asked if I was still happy in the lab. And, for the most part, I am. I just feel awfully stupid sometimes still. I guess that's what happens when you completely change fields. But still, I'll have been here 2 years in May and I feel like I still don't have a good knowledge of the background in the field. Certainly not enough to be keeping up with the student's individual projects. Must work on that. I guess once my lunch buddy, the neighboring lab's technician, leaves for his new position in Colorado I will have my lunches free to be reading. That will probably include some boring text books, but will also include making use of my Kindle to read some funner things.
My hair is getting annoyingly long to me. It's the longest it has been in a LONG time... about 3 inches past shoulders... but still not long enough to donate and leave me with chin-ish length hair. I figure it I go until Spring, I should be able to chop it and still have some hair left. I honestly can't wait. Long hair is just way too much work for me. Of course, it's not getting to the point where it's so long and heavy that it doesn't wave as much, which is good, but it still takes too damn long to dry.
Looking forward to a busy, but fun Holiday. Have a good Turkey Day (or Tofurkey Day) all!!!
