I hate that kind of unethical crap too.

Know what else I hate? Articles about "cheap vacations" aimed at that crowd where the savings come from, for example, staying in $700/night villas instead of the fancier $2000/night villas. People with that sort of money don't need crappy elitist hack articles to tell them to stay in cheaper villas.

I too am sick of crap like this. I was reading an article today online from the New Yorker about the "Rage of the Rich"...

Stuff like, "Do you think you can honestly live in New York on less than $250,000?" makes my head want to explode. Do they have any idea how that sounds to people?

It reminds me of a presentation that we had to sit through at my last job about things being a "breach of loyalty" or something to that effect. We were cautioned about even going to another job and saying something like, "Well, at my old job, we did it this way..." I thought it was all ridiculous. What's the point of gaining experience if you can never leverage that experience again in the future? Imagine if you worked one place and had horrendous experience with some software and its vendor, should you just let a subsequent employer walk into that same nightmare without sharing your own experience? (It's slightly different than the example above, but in the same vein.)
