Composted chicken manure

I bought a bag of this stuff....I have enough for an entire 40-acre farm, I think, in one 40-lb bag. I've been putting some of it in the soil as I plant my pumpkin seedlings. Also put it on the roses and the tomatoes, and the corn got a bit more than the rest. So far everybody's loving it (of course the corn is not up yet, but ( ... )

Update on seedlings

I have 4 different varieties of pumpkin seedlings growing in a mini greenhouse in my parents' back yard, having given up on trying to grow them under a light and then worrying endlessly about spindly seedlings trying to survive in the garden. So far the ones that have come up are big and hardy looking. Some of them have to be planted this weekend ( ... )

Yay I have the whole 1/8 acre garden to myself this year, and I have 4 different pumpkin seedlings earmarked for the garden. Just wondering, is it too late to apply manure to the garden?

Luffa planting

I was wondering when would be a good time to start a luffa plant inside.
I started after last frost last year & by the end of summer, I only had a vine with no flowers.

My house currently has no heat until Satuday & I was thinking of making a seed burrito when we get the new furnace up and running.
Is that too soon? Too late? We just has snow fall, ( ... )
