oh what a night! (yes, that cheesy song)

*(Edits to the song lyrics, thank you to my friend on the moz-solo forum. I've bolded his changes.)

Man, hanging out for 10 hours. I have new friends now, it's very strange.
It's good to be home after a night of wine, women, and food.
Well, no women.

It's a good feeling driving in a convertible on a warm, summer night. The air made a bit cooler with the breeze that gently caresses your face. Especially on a long, empty Texas road with a clear sky and beautiful view of a giant crescent moon that seems to be lighting up your path. Not to mention "Stand By Me" playing on the radio.
The only thing missing is a passenger.

I mentioned this song before, it's Murray Head's "She Was Perfection".
This was a single released on Immediate records in 1967, which was a very popular label and many budding young stars had their start here. Nico comes to mind.

Thing song didn't go anywhere at the time, it didn't have much exposure. But what a most wonderful song it is. It easily goes into my list of top ten songs of all time.
It's one of those Perfect pieces of pop; sharing company with "Waterloo Sunset" and "God Only Knows".

The voice, the music, the tone and flow. It's perfect.
A pity it's less than three minutes long, but, sometimes that's all you need.
I really wish I could make out all the lyrics, there aren't too many but there's a small block I'm missing. I almost like not knowing, it adds to it's air of mystery.

The lyrics are worthy of my printing here, at least what I've transcribed. If someone could fix any mistakes, or decipher the missing block...

she was the biggest walking joke in existence
but despite their attempts and persistence
no man had ever succeeded
cause men, she never really needed

she was perfection (she was perfect she was, she was perfect she was)
she was perfection (she was perfect she was, she was perfect she was)
she was perfection

school and perfect holiday
life it's oh so lovely
touch and kiss
with love we just can't miss
for more, and more
until, we reach, perfection

she was the biggest walking joke in existence
but although perfection, i broke her resistance
others tried, and failed her
i came, i saw, i conquered

she was perfection (she was perfect she was, she was perfect she was)
she was perfection (she was perfect she was, she was perfect she was)
she was perfection

she was, a'so perfection
she was, a'so perfection
she was, a little bit perfection
baby baby baby
