fun fact: journals are useful inventions. i'm a little excited for the resurrection of this one. i am imagining one place in which to store all the sundry lists currently circulating in my head. i might just have shuddered in delight.

lately, senior year could be modeled by a sinuisoidal graph of drama vs. time, with crests representing weekends; valleys, the rest of the week. thus far this weekend, my camp friend has slept over (a visit replete with omegle, the garment district, silly boys wearing long socks, and homemade frosting), i attended eve a.'s birthday party at plaster fun time (!!! eve was not turning seven, just a side note), i hung out with mara, and i went to 010alldayflapperzandgangstas. initially, i thought this event might change how i feel about our class (which was apathetic, i suppose, or sort of detachedly amused). currently, it's bemusement. we are very teenagers. because our lives are devoid of critical drama (taxes, evictions, furnace malfunctions, adultery), we make a big fuss about less important events. that doesn't mean that they're not as meaningful as "adult problems" (they do, after all, evoke comparable emotions), but comparitively speaking, our gossip is laughable.

to celebrate my mother's birthday, my family and some of my mom's friends went out for dinner last night (Lam's). my good friend came along, and after sitting through two hours of repetitive, mundane conversation, we conferred and agreed that there are people who have progressed through life in a bubble. long story short, i would find it really unfortunate if i reached the age of fifty or sixty without exposing myself to as many cultures and traditions as humanly possible. there's also a difference between immersion and vague curiosity, i think, in that visiting places in a strictly tourist-y fashion can be enjoyable, but maybe not ultimately fruitful. i know i've been to another country and simply observed the sights and atmosphere, instead of making an effort to imagine living there/talking with a local/wandering the streets.

but, the point of this entry is not to shit on people, so potentially i should plan out future enjoyable weekends:

jan. 22: nothing yet, but irrelevent.
jan. 29: time management dilemma. in a perfect world, i would make it to three events this evening. here's a thought: WAI Funny just to watch spon gen perform, Invisible Children just to watch vitamin seed perform, and then party? also, jan. 30 is WINTERPROM a.k.a. WINTERSHMAMF a.k.a. PWNTERPROM. northsouthjuniorsseniors$12 get there on time.
feb. 5: idk.
feb. 12: start of vacation.

brain dump od what i want to happen during vacation:
visit fufts (2 days 1 night)
visit mich and sophie and bowdoin and wesleyan, respectively (3 days 2 nights)
visit adina in chicago?
