Visiting Mathematician: "Your city is beautiful, but this is the ugliest campus I have seen in my life."
Native Mathematician: "Clearly, you have not seen many other French universities."
The parents then speculated that French professors must not spend very much time on campus.
Paris is lovely. We went for a walk along the Seine yesterday, saw very many sights, hung out in those lying-down chairs in the Tuileries, and then Metroed our way home. Museum visits planned for the balance of the weekend afternoons.
For now, alas, I have 34 or so linear algebra exams awaiting the dripping ink of my pen.
