Looks like I'm out
Went to the ortho on Tuesday...He looked just like Eugene Levy. So he runs a couple tests to see the range of motion in my shoulder and apparently could tell right away where I was at because he didn't order any more x-rays or an MRI. What he did tell me however was not the best of news...but not the worst either.
So the deal is...I've got two strikes...He said if my shoulder pops out a third time, it's under the knife I go.
However, for now, he is sending me to physical therapy twice next week, where they will teach me exercises that I must do 15-20 minutes a night to strengthen the muscles around the shoulder joint. If successful, I will be able to avoid surgery...I must return to see him in two months.
Soooo...it looks like I'm probably out for the season. *long pause* Writing that just now really freakin sucked. I LOVE playing sports and in particular, baseball/softball...and I'm not half bad at it. I'm super pissed that something like a stupid little fall could end it all. At least I could have gone out on an awesome play like Owen did.
My shoulder DOES feel better everyday so who knows? For now, I will try and come out and cheer my team on and maybe, just maybe...I can get back onto the field before the end of the season. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
