Yes, amazing right???

So this one is about driving...and those who drive fast.  Oh, and gas and those who bitch about gas...and drive fast.

As we all know, gas prices suck and over the last couple months I've come across article after article on how to save money.  #1 on most of them?  SLOW DOWN  #2 on a lot of them?  Eat out ONE less time a week.  I'll admit I usually would drive about 70 mph on my 60-mile round trip trek to work everyday.  Well, I brought it down a notch...and you know what?  I've gotten a good 40 or 50+ more miles per gas tank just by slowing down to 60-65. So my $3.80/gallon is now feeling a little more like $3.50/gallon.

Now...by doing this, I know I have given up my right to travel in the fast lane and I'm perfectly fine with that.  What I am NOT fine with is dickheads tailgating me in the middle lane.  Even when I was traveling fast, I would NEVER...ever tailgate.  If there are three lanes and those in the far right lane are traveling 55 and I am traveling 60-65 then I will be traveling in the middle lane.  I am not going to get into the slow lane just because YOU need to travel 80 and the fast lane is ONLY traveling 75...not to mention the speed limit is 55 anyway so fuck you, I'm already speeding and you're going to tailgate me because my excessive speed is not excessive enough for you?  You're the fuckers complaining about gas prices and guess what?   You're destroying your gas mileage by going so fast (not to mention vastly increasing your chance of getting into an accident).  HAHA...And I get to the same place you get to all of 5-10 minutes later than you do..

We're always wanting to get everywhere immediately and get everything at once...instant gratification...Right here, right now (there is no other place I want to be....errr...oops...sorry).

Maybe we all need to slow down a bit...eat out one less time a week, leave 5 minutes earlier, STILL get there on time, *gasp* become slightly more healthy AND...save a little $$ in the process.  Maybe...higher gas prices aren't such a bad thing after all.
