Well, it's been quite an adventure... Let's start with the senior trip...

Saturday:
Well, this was the day I departed for Washington D.C. I didn't sleep a wink the night before because I was at the 6th grade party helping my brother with the photography and finishing the details of my packing. So I ended up going to sleep at 3 in the morning. Ronnie was smart and ate some breakfast at the airport. We had to wait forever and a day to board the plane so in the meantime I hung out with Nkem and Hanisha.
We got on to the plane and I still couldn't sleep. Ronnie switched seats to sit next to me but I felt so wierd with Roly there. Roly always makes fun of Ronnie and it makes me uncomfortable. But whatever. All they gave us to eat was munchie mix. Grr! I was really hungry!
We arrived at Washington D.C. The airport was stinking 2 hours away from the hotel and the bus drivers had no idea where they were going. So the trip was 3 hours. Grr! So I tried to catch up on sleep but I couldn't get comfortable.
We went to Arlington National Cemetary first and it was so hot! I couldn't focus and stand for a long time. Miss Humphrey called while I was there and I wanted to see her father's grave but there was no time for that. Patty and Hanisha laid the wreaths at the Tomb of The Unknown Soldier. I took lots of pictures of the changing of the guards so yeah. From there we were supposed to go to Generous George's Pizza to eat dinner. But Mr. Konchack insisted that we go to the hotel to freshen up a little bit. Well, we were famished and most of us had only eaten munchie mix on the plane and we were famished! The bus drivers spent another hour looking for the hotel and then after all the complaining from the hunger, Mr. Konchack changed his mind and we went to the pizza place after passing it three times. Grr!
I don't ever remember eating like such a pig but I ate until I couldn't anymore. Ryan, Jorge and the rest of the tribe started singing oldies and rock songs in the corner of the place. It was really funny. Ryan even sang my favorite song from "The Used" for me. He he he!
Dinner was followed by a pizza and ice cream eating contest between Cathy Cramer, Tim and Richard Salmon. Poplin won. It was so gross. ::shudders::
Well, after that we went to the hotel and we were supposed to ride the go-karts but everyone was too tired to go. So we relaxed in the hotel. My roomies were Cristy Munoz, Jen Sanchez and Soraya Vargas.
Sunday:
We woke up pretty early and ate breakfast which cost a fortune! Ahh! Then we rode the subway to the Holocaust Museum. It was really sad. It was my second time going and I was fortunate this time to meet a survivor. I took a picture with him too. :] I bought myself a poster for my room and headed out.
From there we went to the Smithsonian Museum of American History. It was really cool and it's my favorite one out of all of them. After that we walked to the bus for a tour of the city.
I really wanted to go inside the Capitol building but all that they could do was watch me plaster my face to the window and wimper as the bus drove by it. :[ The lady that did the tour was some Jamaican lady that was super smart in History. But she had this really funny accent that made me laugh. So yeah... We took a group picture in front of the White House as well as the Capitol Building. But we couldn't get too close. :[
After that we went to the Memorials. The first one we saw was the WWII memorial. It hadn't been dedicated yet but it was open to the public for viewing and stuff. That's when I accidently exposed my roll of film and I nearly cried. All I could think about was the picture of me and the survivor I met in the museum. So yeah... I haven't developed the pictures so I don't know if it got messed up. But I sure hope not.
The next memorial we saw was the Vietnam memorial. I spoke to Gabriel briefly and I bought one of those POW bracelets as well as the Iraqi leaders playing cards. He he he! From there we went to the Lincoln memorial and took pictures.
Surprisingly we went to the hotel to freshen up really fast and ride the go-karts which was when the whole class discovered that I am a competitive and crazy driver. LOL! I cut Sashley off and I didn't hear the end of it. She told the whole class and all I could do was laugh. Ha ha ha! All I did was swerve in her way (on purpose) a couple of times so that she wouldn't get in front of me. :D He he! Erick ran into me a couple of times and I got stranded a few times. LOL! But I had so much fun.
The bus drivers got lost again and this time we had to pick up a homeless person to get on the bus and take us back to the hotel. Ahhh!
We got back to the hotel around 2 in the morning and I told Soraya to wake me up when she woke me up. From there I went to sleep only to face problems the next day.
Monday:
We were told to be at the bus at 5:30 in the morning. Well guess what? That was the time that Jen woke me up. Apparently, Soraya was supposed to wake everyone up and she only woke Jen and Cristy up at 5:20 to ask them where her watch was. Of course, her hair had been washed and blow-dried and there wasn't a hair out of place. She was dressed and ready to go without a care in the world about the rest of us. Jen and Cristy woke me up and I took the fastest shower ever. I got ready in 10 minutes and I ran out the door leaving my shoes, Perry Ellis and my cell phone behind. Soraya had taken my key so I had to ask for another one so that I could go back and get the cell phone. But I didn't realize the other things I had left.
I got to the bus and I got chewed out by Mr. Konchack, Mrs. Konchack, Mrs. Annett and Mr. Annett. We were 30 minutes late and supposibly it was all my fault. I was pissed off for the rest of the day.
To make matters worse, we went to 6 Flags. I hate roller coasters so I just hung out with Ronnie and the tribe. It was a lot of fun. I got a henna tatoo that was the Chinese symbol for music. That's when I got mugged. $100 were stolen from me. :[ I had given my bag to Christina to hold while they tatooed me and she put it down with everyone else's bags. She put Jordan and Jon Gabriel in charge of it and they started messing around. So someone went in my bag and took my money.
We left and headed for New York. Soraya tried to hang out with me but I just blew her off. I was still mad at her. Luckily I had my dad's ATM card and I was able to pull out $100. I'm so glad I left it on the bus while I was in the park. I called my parents and they weren't happy with me at all. Whatever.
We arrived at the hotel and I tried talking to Soraya about what happened earlier. Here's what happened:
Veronica: Soraya, we need to talk. We can't have a repeat of what happened this morning. I didn't appreciate getting in trouble because of you making me late.
Soraya: I made you late?
Veronica: Yes, you make me late.
Soraya: No, you made yourself late.
Veronica: I was late because of you, Soraya.
Soraya: No, you were late because you had a responsibility to get up.
Veronica: First of all, I asked you to wake me up.
Soraya: You asked me this morning when we got up.
Veronica: No I didn't. I didn't utter a word to you this morning becaue I was so freaking pissed off at you for not waking me up and for taking so freaking long in the bathroom all the time. But of course, you only worried about yourself and not the rest of us.
Soraya: Whatever. You told me this morning.
Jen: No she didn't. I heard her tell you last night before we went to sleep. She told you she couldn't hear the phone because of her hearing aides.
Soraya: Whatever. I don't believe you.
Veronica: Second of all, I can't hear the phone and I told you that. I asked you to do me a favor and you let me down.
Soraya: Yeah, you asked me to do you a favor but that doesn't mean that I'm obligated to do it.
Veronica: Well if you agreed to do it then you made a committment and you obligated yourself to do it.
Soraya: I don't have to do anything for you.
Veronica: Then don't agree to do anything because you not only let me down, you let everyone else down.
Soraya: You should have been more repsonsible.
Veronica: I would have if I could hear the freaking phone. It's not my fault I can't hear it. There's nothing I can do about that. We're past that already.
Soraya: Well, It's not my fault either.
Veronica: ::throws the cell phone on the bed:: Get the heck out of here. I don't want to talk to you, see you and I don't even want to look at you.
Soraya left the room and tried talking to me like 5 minutes later...
Soraya: Veronica, we need to talk.
Veronica: I don't want to talk to you.
Soraya: ::grabs Vero's arm:: Look I--
Veronica: Don't touch me. I don't want to you. Get away from me. I don't want anything to do with you.
Soraya: Excuse me?
Veronica: You heard me now go away. I'm making a phone call.
So the girl left me alone for the night and we had devotions. We went back to the room and she locked herself in the bathroom for two hours talking to her mother and crying. I didn't feel sorry for her. She had insulted me in a way that cut me to pieces.
I went to sleep and slept far away from her. I was so mad.
The rest is coming up.
Love,
Veronica
