what was really surprising is how confused i am now.
i mean. should i get a fender telecaster or a gretsch silverjet?
i have wanted for like two years now to get a tele. i've played alot of them. there's a nice 1983, 800$ one at yinzer guitars. it's the wrong color, of course.
then there was the X show in cleveland on sunday. billy zoom was really amazing. and he had a sweeeet guitar. i had no idea what it was. i found out yesterday when i stopped into yinzer to check out the 83 tele. it was the gretsch. and they had one. up on the wall. 1600$. too much for me of course. but i told them i would be back in today to try both out. with the intent of getting the tele and just hearing the gretsch. well. i went to mckees rocks first today. to johnny b's. there. hanging on the wall. gretsch silverjet. just arrived used. 1200$. i mean. what do i do? huh?
the gretsch sounds sooo sweet. but even after the 1200$, i'd still have to spend some on an amp. and i think the lowest amp i'm looking at would be like 600$. ack!
and then there's the whole question of what am i doing spending money on a guitar anyway? do i really deserve one, i mean, have i gotten that far with my abilities? am i that dedicated to it? will i form this band with twice former drumming bandmate?
or should i spend the money on a new powerbook and a dv cam?
i mean, to put it bluntly, am i a guitarist, or should i be a filmmaker?
or should i just fake my death and disappear? heh.

btw if you want to see future posts, you assholes better respond to this query en masse. not unlike the persians at thermopylae. with your wicker shields and all getting hacked to bits, pieces flying up in the air going whirrrl whirrrl whirrrl.
