Hitting Girls...

I was hanging out with some friends off campus a few nights ago and there was much alcohol being consumed by most parties (I was not partaking).  The girl I was sitting next two was pretty intoxicated, and started to hit me.  I asked for it to stop, it did not; I ordered it to stop, it did not; I then stated that if it happened again I would stop it, it happened again…  I then proceeded to use a wrist lock to restrain the arm I was being hit with; the party collectively wet themselves…

I had laid my hands on a GIRL!

I am sorry, but this seems obvious to me.  It doesn’t matter that it is a girl, or a guy, or a freaking primate that is hitting me.  If someone is violating my right to sit peacefully in my chair while I disturb no one, I will take measures to rectify the infringement on my rights.  I didn’t haul off and knock anyone out, I didn’t even hit anyone, I simply reinforced my command that it stop with a minimal level of force to stop the immediate problem while we further discussed it.  It may have had something to do with the fact that she was fairly attractive, but two of the males in the room were immediately involved, and I was corrected in my misled ways.

Through discussion that followed I was enlightened that it was NEVER appropriate to hit or touch any female in any way.  Even if they were beating on you it is inappropriate to try to restrain them.

Let this be a warning:  I do not discriminate in any way against anyone…  If you try to hurt me, and do not stop when I express my displeasure with the situation, I don’t care weather you are black, white, pink, male, female, big, small, or sick, I will react the same way.  If you don’t want me to touch you, don’t threaten me, and don’t attack me.  I will try to be fair in my response, but when it all comes down to it, I am looking out for my own well being first, that of my close friends second, that of everyone else third, and that of the attackers last.

Am I completely wrong with this line of thinking?
