What makes you jealous?
Jack Bauer finds himself tiring of everyone else getting what he wants.
He built CTU Los Angeles from the ground up, alongside Richard Walsh and Christopher Henderson. It was his unit and his people that for the most part, he hand-recruited. Now he counts at least five of his personnel who have moved or been moved across the country to New York. They were his people, and while some of them went voluntarily, he still is jealous of the fact that they're working for someone else, because he came to give a damn about them all.
He wanted a stable home and family life. Instead, his wife and unborn child were murdered, and his daughter isn't really speaking to him anymore. Meanwhile, Jordan and Mandy Spencer have been married for decades. Even that complete bastard Jake Hannigan has Jennifer worrying about whether he lives or dies. Jack knows that his people care about him, but there's a difference between caring, and having someone to hold your hand. Someone to wake up next to. Someone to say that they love you and no one else.
Jack knows he can't do this job and have a normal life. He's said as much. But that doesn't mean he doesn't want it, and isn't jealous of the people that have it.
And if people would stop screwing with what he does have, he would be a happier man.
