I am destructing clothes at the moment. My mother makes quilts out of clothes she buys at the thrift store. Her newest style is rag quilts made of flannel shirts, so I've got lots of cool buttons right now. I've knocked over a jar of them twice now.
I saw Stubbs again today. She's still alive! A bit thinner than the last time I saw. I doubt she gave birth so early. I suspect it's either from the lack of fatty peanuts or the recent extreme weather conditions. Or a combination of both.
My mom says she saw a groundhog in the backyard. It would be great to have another member of the squirrrel family around. Groundhogs are so cute. Chubby little buggers. They look slow, but I've seen one run in front the car. Those critters can really move when they want to! I know we don't have any chipmunks because of the amount of feral/loose cats around would take care of any population of the tiny chitterboxes. My minister friend has little red squirrels in her yard. Well I don't know if she does now because of the flood. She got hit pretty bad. They lost both their cars.
Speakng of flood damage, we rode past the developments in Painesville that got hit really bad. The river was back down to its normal level, but you could see evidence of it's presence all around. It literally looked like a war zone. Not that I've been to one, but there was just so much destruction. All the cars were covered with a film of dust. The condo units were covered with the same silt up to just below the second story windows. Houses on the street looked like no one had lived in them in years, when it has only been just over a week since the rains. There were piles of belongings unrecognisable except for the occasional mattress. Everything was warped and stained. At each development, both Gristmill and Millstone, a cop car was stationed at the entrance. Only residents were allowed in. Residents and garbage trucks. I don't know if they are going to rebuild. I hope they don't, unless the condos are on stilts like in the coast communities on the East Coast.
Senotor Grendell is coming to Fairport Harbor next week. He'll be at the Senior Center. He wants some of the library staff to be there. Should I go? I don't know how to schmooze. He wants us to be trained to assist the community in a disaster. We have the big bag of Potassium pills for when there is a nuclear meltdown. I know how to deal with large amounts of pills. I've been taken up to 15 differents kinds of pills for two years now. I'm pretty good in an emergency. I've handled my own emergencies for over two years.
Edit: Cute Overload always picks me back up. I mean
look at this little guy.
