I had been quietly adding some pieces here and there...but i have also been re-entering model railroading, another fun hobby of mine. The signs will not be forgotten as i still have far too many gaps left to fill.....and here are some of the fillers now!
24x24 aluminum. I know i just acquired the I-95, but i wanted to grab an I-4 (lowest-numbered I-highway in the US outside Hawaii).
24x24 aluminum. You seldom see these older Ohio US cutouts in such good shape..usually the ones i have seen have the scotchlite sheet long since weathered away...
Tiny embossed steel licence-plate sized secondary route marker from North Carolina. NC had a well-organized secondary route system that was well-integrated with the main roads. The seller had a bunch, so i grabbed 2..this is one of them. Non-reflective black paint, but the numbers and arrow is definitely reflective
Next, are some recent imports from Jake's Sign Liquidation Warehouse
I had to grab this one...the price was too good to resist...even with the sudden plethora of Oregon cutouts on eBay. 18x18 aluminum.
16x16. Standard NH cutout shield, but the route number was all wrong. Never saw poletime, but the three oddly placed holes left me with teh impression this sign as into BGS work. Closes New Hampshire as far as I am concerned
21x21 wood, with beaded glass face. This is one of those odd-ball shaped/lined Massachusetts cutouts
FInally, temporarily closing Rhody (I STILL want a state named US shield at some point) 24x24 aluminum, and looks like it got yoinked from a pole...HARD as the upper bolt hole was completely destroyed. Originally part of Mike T's collection...
One more from Mass....the funky old Mass font shows well here.
And finally for tonight, a neat little acquisition....18x24, and from what i have been told, all too-prone to vandalism...but i am glad i landed it....
Next time. more goodies as i slowly get back into what was my life......
Please look forward to it!
