added value

By God, it's been a long time since I posted here last! You see, this is what happens when you don't have the internet constantly on; you lose all the neat web-enabled stuff. (For the semi-non-knowing: Yes, I do have broadband, but 1 connection and 2 computers yields a lack of internet. This will change once I pick up my wireless router. Yay!)

Speaking of my soon-to-exist wireless router (Is it accaptable to continue off of the parenthetical topic, rather than the main one?), I'm also going to pick up another nifty little thing. This, to be specific. And why not, hm? I've decided my life needs more nifty things. And this way, I'll be able to be in the room where the action is (at the house [Can someone please tell Heather that she's the official-unofficial spokescutie for WPI Residential Services, if she doesn't already know? And if she doesn't know, lemme know what she thinks.]), and still be AIM-connected. It's far cheaper than a laptop (though I'm jonesing for a nice Apple laptop after seeing Macintosh OSX 10.4 Tiger at the 2004 WWDC. [And if you can get that bloody video working, can you let me know how? It never actually starts playing for me.]), and I had a very similar idea many moons (if not a year) ago, so I feel entitled, darnit! Best of all, I'm buying it from Wal-Mart, so it's like a 30-day free trial. Mwa, ha, ha!

Er, getting back to the wireless router, does either of you that reads this thing have a recommendation as far as the brand of yon wireless router (802.11g, please)? DLink and Belkin seem to have the best feature to money ratio, but I don't think I need terribly many features (though I know that encryption is a must). And, frustratingly, I can't seem to find much of any information on the lesser players in the wireless router market. I know that Motorola makes good wireless stuff (like cell phones), and their router is remarkably inexpensive, but I don't want to buy crap. I'm strangely drawn to Buffalo Technology's wireless router, but I've never even heard of them (Where're they from, Canada?), so I'll not be taking a chance with them without further research.

Goodness, what else is happening? I saw Spider-Man 2 recently. I like to call it Arachna-Dude, though. So I saw Arachna-Dude 2 recently. Very good movie. I won't say more, because you need to go see it yourself. Go! Noooow! ::shakes fist Zim-style:: (Side note: Is it just me, or does Kirsten Dunst look notably less attractive without the red hair?) Lessee, how much can I say about the movie without spoiling it? Eh, not worth bothering. Have you seen it yet!? Jeezy Chreezy, as our friend Eddie Izzard would say. (Those who followed the link please note the file extension throughout the site, the strange comments when you hover over many links, and the overall abundance of jam.)

So, I read all of Akira today. The original graphic novels, that is. Goodness, is it long. 2000+ pages. Musta been really compressed down to become a movie. (Note: I have never seen the movie version of Akira in its entirety.) I also found the time to fix the door of the dryer here at my house. Y'see, for 5 years, the washer has been to the right of the dryer. This would be OK, except that the hinges of the dryer door are also on the right. So today I learn that that can be changed. I never knew. My father sold appliances for years, and he just never got around to fixing it. So I did it myself. It only took (as my mother said) "five years and five minutes" to get it fixed. (Those who followed the link please note that that store has been a Target since 1998. Why there's a website for it, I have no clue. Please also note the ratio of cassettes to CD's and the lack of any signage displaying the word "DVD.")

I think I'm out of ideas. And my fingers are tired of writing over and over again. So, bye! ::fades out:: (PS: It's now 2:15AM. Sheesh.)
