I had a *great* birthday yesterday. First, the wonderful outpouring from all my friends made me feel so loved. Thank you, everyone, for your well wishes and kind words.

My niece is visiting this week, so I helped her and Clare make me birthday cards. Clare's had fireworks and said "Your like fireworks spreading love." (I tried to correct her grammar, but she wouldn't let me) Rachel (6 months younger) had bees, and Clare suggested "You're like bees stinging love." They both did a great job on them.

Mark bought me a new mp3 player. My old one held 512 Mb, and I couldn't make playlists or anything. The new one is a Sanso, much like an iPod, and holds 2 Gig and plays videos. It's kind of awesome.

Mark's sister made up a basket full of travel things, like a crossword puzzle book, candy, travel sized toiletries, and sunscreen. It's kind of awesome too.

The wonderful, generous, all-around awesome smc36 sent me the most gorgeous bouquet of flowers. It's shaped like a cake and came in a cake box, and is beautiful.

And of course, I arranged for you all to write me stories for my birthday. I'm slowly working my way through them, and they are all beautiful and wonderful.

We ordered pizza for supper (my favourite) and had Dairy Queen ice cream cake for dessert. We're going out for supper tomorrow night to a grown up restaurant with Mark's sister and her husband, since we are both getting rid of sending our kids to their grandparents' for a visit.

Now I'm on the downward slide toward forty - scary times. But having a wonderful family and fabulous friends - both RL and LJ - make it okay.
