I think all of us reach points in our lives where we take a step back and look at how we've changed. Sometimes this is a conscience decision, other times it happens unexpectedly. Much can be learned from these moments as we look at the person we used to be and see the person we are now, seeing both people in their entirety, both good and bad. I think often times, we ask ourselves in these moments, "Is this really who I want to be?" Perhaps this comparison can be between yourself and the you from a couple days ago. Perhaps that gap spans a week, maybe a month or two. Maybe that gap spans a year, a lifetime. These moments can often be the most pivotal points in our lives. By experiencing these moments of comparison bad courses can be abandoned and good ones taken up.

I think that's where I'm at right now. I know the direction I was going was the wrong way, and I can only hope this new one is the right. Life is a silly and complex thing sometimes.
